The outcasts of Prospero. The 3117th crusade fleet and more!

Greetings fellow frater! I've been struggling for a time with uploading photos on my phone (oh the struggle!) but I think, and all my various appendages crossed here, I've figured it out!

Now for the good stuff!

I've been toying around with fluff and unit organisations for my thousand sons for some time. And due to certain personality traits I have I really struggled with the thousand sons rather flexible force organisation. So I thought, how can I make them organised in a way that suits me, yet still be thousand sons. And an idea struck me, if Raven guard have the nomad predation fleets, then why could various other legions not have similar forces? Thus it was the 3117th crusade fleet was born, formed around thousand sons who didn't agree with Magnus' ethos regarding sorcery, both Terran and Prosperine.

 

I will eventually get around to the fluff proper, once I get my head more around the concepts I have floating around, but for now I have what I want to build and paint pretty much sorted.

I know it's ambitious, but I plan on doing the entire fleet (space faring vessels included) at the outset of their participation in the heresy. The basic outline I have so far is that they are a smaller fleet, not only through choice but also owing to the fact that their last operation before the censure of the thousand sons let them into a Hrud migration, and that they were stuck on a muster world rearming and reorganising when a localised warp storm hit, cutting them off from the imperium at large, and the events of prospero and istvaan, only emerging from their isolation a few months after the events of istvaan V.

 

Anyway! Enough blabber and onto the good stuff! I'll be starting off with the astartes defence force assigned to the crusade fleets flagship, the Thousand sons battle barge "Hamunaptra".

I have all the models I need except a squad of breachers, in various points of assembly.

 

And I present to you, still WIP, the as yet unnamed primus Medicae aboard the Hamunaptra.

Hey all! Just a small update! No fluff as yet (a bit of writers block going on, all I have are very rough dot points), but I do have a bit of painting done!

 

First up. I present lieutenant Bakenhonsou, legion Delegatus and captain of the heavy cruiser "Anubis"

Now all these guys still aren't 100% done, I still need to do the bases, and transfers on my thousand sons (still waiting for the fw sheet to be delivered) and possibly weathering.
