Need help with CHapter

Hello,

 

I need help deciding what chapter to build and play.  I am trying to decide between Black Templar, Dark Angels, and Space Wolves.  I like the fluff and history of all 3 chapters, and that they all 3 do their own thing.  While the fluff and looks is the main reason that I like these armies, I do not want to spend the time and money building an army that is under-powered on the gaming board.

 

What I have actually been thinking about doing is a custom chapter called the Wolves Templar.  The back story is that they are a group of marines from both the Black Templar and Space Wolves who have through mutual respect for each other's ferocity and lack of disregard for the the codex organization.  The chapter will be loyal to both the Templar and Space Wolves, and follow the leadership of either one depending on what the mission calls for.   They will have iconography from both chapters and have a dark grey color scheme.

 

My thinking in doing this, is that since they are loyal to both chapters; they will take direction from either chapter's leaders and be willing to work with the special units from each chapter.  I would not try to use rules from each chapter at the same time or use special units from one chapter while using the other's rule set (using Thunderwolf Calvary while using Templar rules for example).

 

So what do you all think?  Do you think that this will work or do you think that I will get laughed out of the local gaming stores for not picking a single army and sticking with it?  Like I said earlier, I really like the story of all 3 chapters; I just do not want to end up spending a bunch of money on an army that is not fun to play because it is under-powered with what ever the current set of rules are.

Well, I think it is a bit early in the new edition to declare who is underpowered or not. Heck, the first codex doesn't get released for two weeks.

But, I think your idea could be fun. Or maybe just simplify it.... the are Space Wolf successors who believe that the Emperor is a god.

 

Either way, if you really like the lore of multiple cannon chapters and want to toss is into a blender to make your own thing, awesome!
