I don't want to do that. Seems hard.

You're not going to get many suggestions if that's how you respond. 'That seems too difficult for me, can you think of another way?' would be much better. Howver, I'd caution that most responses to this topic will involve some fairly high level modelling as what you're asking isn't easy.

The other issue you may well run into is the size of the skeleton vs the available size around the sarcophagus area as demonstrated by these two examples:

As an attempt to do it, cut out the existing sarcaphpgus and replace it with a construction of your own  made from clear plastic with enough depth that you could fill it using this sort of method:

The Internet is difficult. But I hope my bad attitude to casting the lid in clear resin provides the clearest possible indication that I both don't want to do it and that it seems hard.

I appreciate the rest of your post. The sizing issue is one I might have to contend with.

I was considering using the new Primaris dread (Redemptor?) because it fits big boy scaling. A small plastic test tube could work here as well.

Love the resin water base.

If your response is "that looks hard" then you shouldn't consider complicated modeling projects.

I don't think this project will be as complicated as all that. I'm just not terribly interested in casting parts at this stage.

Actually, you know what, guys? I think I'm coming across as a real :cuss here, so forget I started the topic in the first place. I'm just very tired and very anxious and I probably should not be writing or responding to Internet posts right now. My sincere apologies.

Isn't there are piece of corpse in the sarcophagus of the Venerable dread kit?

You could cut off the front panel of the armoured plate, so you have only the frame, and glue some clear plastic in it. Fill up the sarcophagus with some green coloured watereffects and place the front panel when the resin has dried.

Or get some coloured plastic (like from tic-tacs) so you don't have to bother with coloured resin.

From the fluff I remember, most interred marines are in the foetal position inside the sarcophagus. This will have two effects - the container can be smaller but modelling the marine might require lots of chopping.

Many probably aren't fully intact either...

I think if you want not-hard solutions to you problem, you will:

  • get Smart *** remarks
  • get poor results from lazy work

with those in mind, based on what youve said so far I would recommend buying a 25c Toy in a marchine, put half a space marine in it and glue it to your dread.

Otherwise, invest in some cheap casting materials or buy a vacuformer.

This is your hobby, do what you want with it. If your attempts are lazy you will have bad results, expecting the right specific answer to solve your laziness is the wrong step forward. I would tread lightly.

Very useful. Thanks.
