New FAQ for the main rule book just out. Gate of Infinity has been clarified:

Yes, you do count as having moved (treated as arriving reinforcements).

No, you don't as having Fallen Back if you Gate out of combat (I.e. from within 1" of enemy models).

Reasonable. Not fantasic, but reasonable. Do you have a link perchance so I can see what other updates were done?

We'll have to rely on the GK codex to improve our current viability for heavy weapons.

I wouldn't count on it. I'd either be using power levels instead of points, or I'd be using stormbolters. A psilencer purgation squad sounds interesting but I don't have the models to trial it.

I've noticed that the Inferno Cannon on an IG Hellhound (good mobility and protection) has the exact same profile, in all respects to the Heavy Incinerator, yet is half the cost. They really need to relook all of our ranged upgrade options. I'd maybe pay 20 points for one of those on a Dreadknight, but I'm not going to pay 40.

The Psilencer Purgation squad is very effective in my experience, with d3 damage it helps nullify fnp type rolls especially against orks and when the full squad hits a vehicle the d3 damage makes up for needing 5+/6+ to wound.

I'll continue to use mine even if my first turn of shooting is slightly hamstringed as i normally gate them to be within 6" of the Grandmaster so its swings and roundabouts for how effective they'll be first turn

Hmm. I'm usually keeping my GM moving a lot as a multiplier for the beatstick portion of my army, so I don't think gating the Purgators up to him would be good for their long-term survival, but I can definitely see them forming a mid-table firebase in some terrain and in support of a long-range ven-dread.

I gate mine to GM if i've decided to deepstrike the GM and his accompanying units of paladins, as it can boost the alpha strikes potency if needed, its a very all or nothing strategy but it can take an opponent by surprise, i recently did it to an ork list and fired everything into his two 30 man boyz units, 16 dead in one unit and 14 from the other, it broke mob rule so he started losing orks to leadership, which ultimately won the game as he was stuck just out side of his deployment zone and i was able to Gate other units to objectives, but in hind sight it was a very high risk high reward gameplan as i was outnumbered 3 to 1, could have gone wrong very quickly.

it was a very high risk high reward gameplan.

You just described my strategy every time I play Grey Knights, lol!

And mine, you just haven't lived until your opponent looks at you in disbelief and says 'what do you mean your entire army is in my deployment zone'

Haha I play the same way, it can really catch some people off guard, I tabled a farsight bomb list in 7th because he wasn't expecting me to be at his door step turn one.

I feel with our limited model count we need everything to be in their face ASAP, to really maximize what we can do!

So you can still gate out of CC, and charge in the fight phase?
