Hi guys,

In addition to 40k, I also play Warmachine and have some Protectorate of Menoth models. I was wondering if some of them might work as stand-ins for SoB models.

Could this work as a Canoness?

Could these work as Ministorum Priests?

Maybe the guys without crossbows could be Crusaders? Or I could use the ones with crossbows as Celestians?

Here's a size comparison with a guardsman for the potential Canoness:

Do you think that any of these are reasonable?

Yeah, I'd file off the crosses on the exmeplar errants' shelds and either freehand Inquisition =][= or fleur de Lys if they are assigned to sisters army. Probably I's also file off the protruded shoulder pads too, they look overdone to me.

For the priest models, I'd use the bare head models and cut off the head and add a regular head without the mouthpiece, a priest does loads of preaching and then it makes no sense having a mouthpiece I think. Also I'd switch out the crosses on top of the staves to something else, either eagles, =][= or fleur de lys, or maybe green stuff a torch.

Personally, yeah I think some of those would make good priests or Crusaders, but none of them actually look like Sisters to me (though the only third party models I've seen that would be acceptable to me are the Grishnak (or however you spell it) ones, and even then only barely).

One could argue the mouthpieces incorporate loudspeakers to spread the priests' sermons across a field. Green stuff speakers would aid the claim.

Yes, or those kakophoni-heads with built in loudspeakers at the mouth would be cool too. The ones on the priests look like just rags, would need something built on top to look like loudspeakers

I think the Choir would make solid Ministorum Priests with minimal conversion effort.  I'd be really hesitant to use Exemplars for Sisters, for the following reasons:

1) They have 3 or 4 Menofixes (the crosses) per model.  Filing them down/off is going to be tough to do without destroying the surface.

2) They are pretty clearly male (i.e. not sisters :P).  Sure, realistically in full plate you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference, but in a minis game it's nice to have the men obviously male and the women obviously female.  If you're a realism purist, then I guess this doesn't matter.

3) Exemplars don't really look like they're in power armor; they look like they're in plate armor.  It doesn't seem they're fit well into 40K.
