Serious fluff questions

Recommended Posts

Ok, would an Emperor's Champion ever be entombed in a Dreadnought? Yes or no? Like, do they all just get obliterated completely, or would a BT Techmarine get a vision of the Emperor telling him that his Champion has yet more work to do? Would being entombed in a Dreadnought be an honor or a disgrace? Would the Champion be a Venerable Dreadnought, an Ironclad, or a unique variety? Would an Emperor's Champion Dreadnought be awesome, or not?

An Emperor's Champion would certainly be entombed in a Dreadnought though he would stop being the Crusade's Champion due to the nature of both roles being a bit exclusionary to each other, one being infantry support and another being a hunter of champions even though both are living symbols of the chapter and the fact that the Black Templars are dogmatic in their rituals so a Champion would need to receive a vision AND be able to wield the Black Sword without having it be weld into a power fist. Its not like Dreadnoughts dont have weird quirks, some dreadnoughts are remembered of their past deeds by details in their sarcophagus, such as painting their helmets of the rank that they previously held or adorning their armor with trophies.

I'm going to say that an EC that survives getting wounded that severely would definitely go in a dread. He wouldn't be the EC anymore, though. Having said that, all the fluff has always pointed at short life span and quite irreparable death.
