carnifex is sold out, no longer available?

saw this on the website, is this normal?

It's just sold out. As in none in at the moment but there will be more later. If it was no longer available it would have a greyed out picture with a stamp on it saying No Longer Available or Sold Out Online. It would also have Availability as No Longer Available Online. Lots of other stuff across various ranges is currently sold out with the release of 8th.

 

For a comparison, here's the Carnifex which is sold out and here's Lost Patrol which is no longer available.

They're taking a lot of sets down to replace with ones including rules datasheets from what I hear, so you'll probably see a bunch of things appear to sell out and come back in stock as they do this.

@Toxichobbit - Triszin may be asking about the U.S. selling.  You linked the Carnifex Brood.  On the U.S. site there are two Carnifex items:

• A single Carnifex which is greyed out and marked as no longer available: https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Tyranid-Carnifex
• A Carnifex Brood (consisting of 2 Carnifexes) which is marked as "temporarily out of stock Online" - https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Carnifex-Brood

It could either be an oversight or perhaps, as Sawtooth mentioned, this is more related to a merchandising strategy for 8th edition.

Anything going out of production has the hour glass and 'last chance to buy' tags.

 

Anything else is just what it says, either temporarily out of stock, or a repack.

 

A bunch of the start collecting boxes became no longer available as they switch the included rules to 8th ed. And change the box colour.
