Pure speculation, but given how the Space Marine Codex has panned out I'd guess that Shrikes will become an Index only unit and not be supported in the Codex. That doesn't stop you using them as the Indices are still legal and they will still get all the rules buffs (and nerfs) that the Codex brings, but given the last two weeks of discussions on the Marine 'dex it matters to some people.

If it doesn't matter to you then it's not a big deal if they are Index only. If it does matter, I'd hold off on making Shrikes until the Codex drops to see which way the spores blow. Hopefully it's among the 10 Codexes before Christmas. Also, if they do remain in the Codex they will 100% be getting a kit, so that might be something to consider as well.

No, it doesn't. The grain was already set in the Marine Codex. There's the Captain on Bike who has no model. What he does have though, is the ability to be made by simply combining two different Marine kits, a multi-part Captain and a Bike. The same with the Dreadknight, just combine it with some GK Terminator bling to make a fancier pilot. WH:TV even said that this is how the design studio thinks, they'll include it if it can be made from two kits from the same range. Most of the other bike characters, the Honour Guard options, the Dreadnought weapons etc that were removed from the Marine Codex followed this philosophy as well, with either requiring more complex conversions involving cutting up models, or Forge World parts. There are a few outliers. like the various Command Squad models that could easily be combined with Bikes to make the versions in the Index. In this case I'd guess that it's because, unlike the Captain and Dreadknight you'd need multiple of the same kit (bikes) to make them. Kinda flimsy reasoning but it seems to be where GW is drawing the line.

Shrikes don't fall into that category. There is nothing in the Tyranid range that could be (reasonably) used to give Tyranid Warriors wings. That's why I said "hold off on making Shrikes until the Codex drops".

If Shrikes are not there, you are permitted to use the Index entry. That's a separate datasheet, not a Warrior wargear upgrade.

Yep. I said as much in my first post. It still bothers some people though, either because they feel that the Index is less valid (silly really, given what GW have said) or they hate the idea of carrying multiple books. So it's worth letting the OP know before he spends money on them. Also, there's the small matter that if they are in the new Codex they'll have a new kit, which is something else worth bearing in mind before spending money on them.

Uprising, those Warrior poses are *AMAZING* :-O Fantastic work! I have always tried to make dynamic Warrior poses, but this is really great.

How did you do the feet? They look almost like rending claw/arm bits?

They are just rending claws from genestealers and warrior kits.  I have one rule for tyranid model:  6 limbs, no more, no less.
