Hey guys I need some feedback on how you like to build your techmarines.

Also what model do you use or what third party parts do you use to build your techmarines?  I personally will no longer waste my money on Fine cast  models as we all know the quality to be sadly low.  I was just enlightened that GW does not sell a plastic techmarine.  I know they are good, I just never picked one up.

As I do not want finecast and I would like to avoid ebay I'm looking for alternate suggestions.

I do like servo harness from Anvil Industries as I have used their bits before.

Also I'm even willing to combine this with a fallback of picking up the FW techmarine and adding a shapeway cross to his shoulder.

Right now I'm thinking going full harness, axe and combi-melta.

Thoughts, feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Ah. In that case, one option might be to grab a devastator box, and use the reinforced legs and sergeant chest and helmet :

They are fairly similar to those of the Mk IV techmarine from forgeworld.

Throw in that anvil servo harness and you're good to go.

Alternatively, if you know a mechanicum/skitarii player, you may be able to get from them one of the claws that can be monted on a onagre :

Those work relatively nicely as a single servo-arm.

EDIT : Forgot to add earlier that most vehicles with a gunner will have a mechanicum shoulder pad somewhere.

As for me, I'm old so I have no such problem... I may repaint this guy's armour in black though, at some stage.

I'd definitely go with Anvil Industry bits. I've used them to make my TFC Techmarines and a couple with servo-harnesses. Another option is to get some Mk III Iron Armour torsos from the Horus Hersey box set or the Renaissance Torso from Anvil...got the riveted armour look. Same feel like the torsos Ciler mentioned. Be sure to post some pics when you get them built!
