Fly rule and combat

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

I know that a model with fly can just leave combat, but is the same true if your a model without fly in combat with a model with fly?

im guessing not but just want to check

Also is overwatch on 6s still?

Any model may fall back from combat now during the movement phase, using their normal movement.

If they do however, they cannot shoot or charge in that turn.

The difference with Fly however is that they can fall back and still shoot.

Some other units can fall back and charge still (like the Sanguinor).

Overwatch is indeed still a 6 that is unaffected by modifiers (unless specifically called out as affecting overwatch).

Cheers charlo

a follow up question would be, if you can fall back and re-charge, does that include shooting aswell?

Not unless you have the Fly Keyword or it specifically says so.

Basically:

  • No additional rules = Fall back, NO shoot, NO charge
  • Fly = Fall Back, YES shoot, NO charge
  • Rule X allowing charge after fall back = Fall back, NO hoot, NO charge
  • Rule X & Fly = Fall Back, YES shoot, YES charge

land speeder storm falling back from combat, can passengers (open topped) fire aswell

Pg. 181 of 'Dex Marines, Landspeeder Storm Datasheet Open-Topped ability specifically covers this question in the last sentence of the ability.
