Stoic Raptor
I tried the Macragge/Calgar combo and didn't like how dark it looked. So I tried a bunch of combos and I'm most pleased with: Primer: Vallejo Ultramarine Surface Primer Basecoat: Macragge Blue Layer: Caledor Sky Edge Highlight: to be determined - I think Calgar Blue still works but I haven't gotten to that stage yet. I tend to loike the "old school" brighter blue color scheme. StraightSilver
I actually use Altdorf Guard Blue for my main colour as that's the closest match to Citadel's original Ultramarine Blue.It does look lighter but I prefer it.So I do:Black undercoat Macragge Blue (so next step goes over black) Altdorf Guard BlueRecess wash Drakenhoff Nightshade50/50 highlight Altdorf Guard Blue/Calgar BlueCalgar Blue highlight 50/50 Calgar Blue/Fenrisian Grey highlight Spot highlight Fenrisian Grey Stoic Raptor 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337459-painting-ultramarine-blue/page/2/#findComment-4902550 Share on other sites
