RAVEN’S FURY This jump pack is a technological marvel, now well beyond the finest artificers of the Imperium. It incorporates miniaturised plasma engines in place of the traditional ram jets, providing the pack’s wearer a lightning turn of speed when boosting into battle.

How are all you RG players modelling this wargear, if any of you have decided to take/model it? I'm guessing most players from the previous edition and this one just use a regular jump pack, or one of the jump packs that have some iconography on them like Shrike's, Korvydae's, or the Vanguard Veterans one.

I thought it would be interesting to model it according to its description though. Removing the air intakes and putting plasma coils on the tops of the thrusters. Anyone else think it'd be a cool idea?

I'm lazy and not modeling it :<  I just point to whoever has it and tell my opponent that this model is going to do terrible things to them.

If I had a bit of extra cash I would get me some sanguinary guard bits and use the wings but paint them black/blue.  I think it would look pretty good.

I have considered this exact thing, but have yet to actually start on the model - largely for demanding that I finish one project before starting another. :tongue.:

I did, however, start collecting bits for the project. Snagged a set of Plasma Cannons from a Marine Vehicle sprue for a good set of coils, and a jump pack from a Sanguinary Guard to use as the base - because I felt the Raven's Fury should look different from a standard Jump Pack. Leave the side jets, remove the interior of the main jet, assemble the coils on the sides of the pack, and then either seal the main jet section or add some sort of chute bits. Considered cutting down the Sanguinary wings for use as Raven Wings on the pack too, similar to what SanguinaryGuardsman said, but we'll see.

Those were my thoughts, anyway!

I modeled one but it was a humble take on the description. Skull and crossbones bits on the intake acted as the plasma "engine" that augmented the current exhaust power. It is miniaturized after all. Nothing fancy as the description suggests the common design is neither more baroque nor streamlined.

You mean this post? Thanks I'm flattered. :)

So on top of the Lts I kit bashed this week I finally got around to doing my Jump Chaplain Shrike! :D

Finally getting through my unbuilt model back log...

The Sanguinary guard kit is about the same price as the BA jump Chaplain! But you get 5 models vs 1.

Having made those 2 models + 1 libby as well I've been thinking about what I will do with the last 2 packs.

The jump packs on their own are pretty decent looking without attaching the wings. So maybe that's an option too? Or are there some FW bits? Maybe even some de chaosed jump packs could do the trick?

Well, if you include primaris stuff anyway, why not fit some of those new inceptor/grav chute plates onto a regular jump pack? Every Reiver box has lots of them (grav chute option), a few should be obtainable.

I did look at the Dark Fury pack for it, but decided against it for my build because I'm really not a fan of combining resin and plastic on the same model (or metal and plastic, for that matter). I just really prefer the newer plastic GW's been using recently. Call me weird.

The central exhaust pretty much looks the same for both the Dark Fury ad the Sanguinary, so that part isn't much of a loss, at least.
