True scale Heresy era Space Wolves?

Recommended Posts

So the new Primaris additions bothers me. They look just too damn good. With that in mind, I was hoping they'd release a SW kit eventually but with the Ultramarines upgrade pack being so... minuscule and without new torsos, I'm fearing the same fate might await the VI.

So I've made a contingency plan on how converted Primaris marines would look melded with Heresy era FW kits:

So what are your thoughts guys? Passable as Heresy mkiv artificer armor?

I'm relatively happy with it knowing that worse case scenario I can still have a force of these bad boys looking like proper Viking SW.

Nice miniature, and the un-helmeted [somewhat] Mk.III head is very decent to cap it off. Good use of the upgrade torso carved out to turn tthe Mk.X torso into something both more Wolfey and Heresy-era. Although I have to second what Grotsmasha said above - if you're wanting to emphasize the 'Heresy' vibe, then you should prooobably be using one ofthe more traditional truescale measures - either Cataphractoi legs for Mk.III [which would go very nicely with the grill and powerpack] or Tartaroi for something perhaps a bit more Mk.VIish.

Definite scope to keep doingwhat you're doing iwth the chestpiece though - it's quite legit; although I imagine it's a bit effort-intensive as well.

Where's that axe from? Dwarves?

Very nice overall posing and use of the furry tabard also :D Like I said at thestart, this is a really nice miniature!

Fair comment about visual distinctiveness for Terminators ... but will they look large enough next to truescales if you go with the regular out-of-the-box ones  :P

We did a truescale VI Legion terminator based off Horus for my 30k bits and pieces not so long ago; although I appreicate that that's not necessarily for everybody [and would require a certain amount of owrk if you were goign to try and field a whole unit of 'em]
