For example, a Venerable GK Dreadnought is hit by a mortal wound and uses the Truesilver Armour strat, which gives the ability to ignore mortal wounds on 5+.

Can we use that *and* the normal venerable ability to ignore wounds on a 6+ if the 5+ fails?

Or can we only atempt to ignore a wound once?

Per the FAQ:

Q: If a model has two rules that allow it to ignore wounds, such

as the Disgustingly Resilient ability and the Tenacious Survivor
Warlord Trait, can I use them both?
A: Unless stated otherwise, yes.

Always the second place you should look for answers

First place being here of course i should imagine.

There was a discussion about this in the Iron Hands forum as well (though I was not part of it). Apparently you can get as many as three rolls to ignore a wound with the Chaplain Dread roll, IH chapter tatcics, and the warlord trait for +1 wound and roll, or just +1 FNP roll, as the first makes Chaplain dreads 10 wounds and therefore targetable.

First place being here of course i should imagine.

While I appreciate your confidence, I'd actually peg us as the third place. First you should crack open your rulebook and codices and re-read the pertinent passages.
