Hello guys!

Im having problems understanding the "Repair Barge" rule of the Ghost Ark. It says this:

Repair Barge: You can make Reanimation Protocol rolls for any slain models from units embarked on a Ghost Ark, even though those units are not on the battlefield. Any models returned to the unit this way are added to the number of models embarked on the Ghost Ark – if any models cannot be returned because there is no more room on the Ghost Ark, they are not returned this turn. In addition, at the end of each of your Movement phases, you can make Reanimation Protocol rolls for any slain models from a single <DYNASTY> Warriors unit within 3" of the Ghost Ark. You cannot use this ability on a unit that has been targeted with a resurrection orb this turn.

So what I understand here is that if you have a 10 ten man warrior squad inside the Ghost Ark and you disembark them and all of them get killed (They are not in the battlefield now), you can still roll for Reanimation Protocols and you put those who revive inside the Ghost Ark, but if they arent all dead, you cant benefit of that rule. Instead of that, you can benefit of the second part of the rule, wich allows yo to make another Reanimation Protocol phase at the end of your movement, but what I dont really understand if the first part of the rule.

Can anyone help me?

Cheers.

The way the first part of the rule works, is if a unit that has taken losses but not been destroyed and then embarks on the ghost ark it can still roll for RP.  Example a warrior squad takes 3 losses then next turn it embarks into the ark. At the start of the NEXT turn those warriors can then make a RP roll even though they are not technically on the battlefield.  The second part of the rule allows you to make a RP roll for models within 3 in at the END of your movement phase.  This is in effect a second chance to make RP rolls in one turn.

The part about not getting more models back refers to the possibility of a squad that started larger than the transport capacity of the ghost arc being reduced in size to less than max capacity then through RP being made larger than the ghost arc can handle.
