Has anyone given this any thought? I love the look of the new models, but a bit meh about the stats. I am thinking of just switching over to the Primarus model and then finding some other way to distinguish them should I run them in the future.

I was playing around with a Reiver this afternoon and slapped a chainsword and jump pack on him. I should probably change the pistol too. I think it makes for a nice looking assault marine.

I'm currently converting a Space Wolves army using Primaris as regular marines. Got 10 Grey Hunters, 10 Blood Claws and a few characters ready. Check out my stuff here if interested

I would say avoiding confusing is the key just like with other counts as army themes.  If you have any primaris as normal marines then you should use ZERO actual primaris in your army to avoid confusion.

That said.. I think the Reivers are better suited to be scout equivalents than assault marines though.  The loadouts match up alot better with scouts (bolters = carbines, pistol/ccw=pistol/ccw).
