Weeping Legion WIP C&C welcome

Recommended Posts

I recently received my Half of the Dark Imperium, and immediately set out to find a scheme that I like.

i know I wanted a color that would be reminiscent of the unpainted armor the death guard had in 30K, so when I saw the Weeping legion scheme it really talked to me.

Dunkan made a very nice Video on this scheme, but it felt way to clean for a warband said to be literally "covered in foul ichor continuously dripping from their wounds".

I am still developing the scheme and would appreciate any comment on how to improve it.

Here is the first squad with Sergeant WIP, I included him cause I think it is interesting to see them at their most colorful.

Very nicely done :smile.: one thing i would add is some drip lines coming off the cracks in the armour. Normally I'd say in brown but i think a really dark purple would work well for these guys

Thanks :)

Do you have an image I could use as example? I wanted to do something like that, but I do not have a clear idea of how to proceed.

Really liking this colour scheme and you have executed it very well. The pinks for the tentacles are a great contrast to the armour. The only thing I would suggest is doing another wash in the in the recesses of the armour and where the green meets the cream

I paint them White (palid wich flesh) then heavy wash with seraphim sepia, then glaze with palid on the clear armor plate. I will try to do a targeted shade with Agrax on select area of the armor. Ill post the champion when he is done.

Thanks for the tips guys :D

It took me a little while to find it, but this is the model i was thinking of

I think it's from one of the old CSM codexes. They're called "The Cleaved" if you wanna look them up, not a lot out there but there are some tutorials, although i would change the colours used, the red and green look a bit weird

Worked on the champion, added more shade than the first Plague marines, as recommended.

Also added some drip line, but this model is so busy that there's really not much space for added detail.

I will now play around with some typhus corrosion for the metal part.

So far, solid work! The creams and greens of the armour are nicely done.

Only thing I don't think works is the blue you've used on the Champion - it clashes far too much with the other colours, a deep black-purple would be more ideal (since the existing purple is a saturated contrast to the more muted armour colours).

I'll keep an eye on this one. :)

thanks!

the teal does contrast a lot and does not belong in the same palette as the other colors, I admit. I was going for a dark teal and went too bright.

Purple is indeed the only other option I can think of.

Update!
my first PoxWalker and Character!
its my first time painting so much flesh, hopefully my inexperience will not show to much on their unhealthy flesh.
