BlackTriton
I recently received my Half of the Dark Imperium, and immediately set out to find a scheme that I like. i know I wanted a color that would be reminiscent of the unpainted armor the death guard had in 30K, so when I saw the Weeping legion scheme it really talked to me. Dunkan made a very nice Video on this scheme, but it felt way to clean for a warband said to be literally "covered in foul ichor continuously dripping from their wounds". I am still developing the scheme and would appreciate any comment on how to improve it. Here is the first squad with Sergeant WIP, I included him cause I think it is interesting to see them at their most colorful. http://i.imgur.com/3jUM7hV.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/Dnu9C8b.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/kYBqN7a.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/OgE5qHL.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/nrZr9hS.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/EdaIcv3.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/aI8QTqO.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/BixU4zi.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/NiA4BgM.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/3UFFdPz.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/FrJPI6F.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/XuCBrqY.jpg El_Dicko, Kordhal, brettfp and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337887-weeping-legion-wip-cc-welcome/ Share on other sites
brettfp
Very nicely done :) one thing i would add is some drip lines coming off the cracks in the armour. Normally I'd say in brown but i think a really dark purple would work well for these guys Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337887-weeping-legion-wip-cc-welcome/#findComment-4851596 Share on other sites
Sagentus
Really liking this colour scheme and you have executed it very well. The pinks for the tentacles are a great contrast to the armour. The only thing I would suggest is doing another wash in the in the recesses of the armour and where the green meets the cream Kinstryfe 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337887-weeping-legion-wip-cc-welcome/#findComment-4851667 Share on other sites

I wanted to do something like that, but I do not have a clear idea of how to proceed. Really liking this colour scheme and you have executed it very well. The only thing I would suggest is doing another wash in the in the recesses of the armour and where the green meets the cream I paint them White (palid wich flesh) then heavy wash with seraphim sepia, then glaze with palid on the clear armor plate. I will try to do a targeted shade with Agrax on select area of the armor. Ill post the champion when he is done. Thanks for the tips guys :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337887-weeping-legion-wip-cc-welcome/#findComment-4852575 Share on other sites
brettfp
It took me a little while to find it, but this is the model i was thinking of http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/mediawiki/images/8/89/Thecleavedmodel.jpg I think it's from one of the old CSM codexes. They're called "The Cleaved" if you wanna look them up, not a lot out there but there are some tutorials, although i would change the colours used, the red and green look a bit weird Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337887-weeping-legion-wip-cc-welcome/#findComment-4852592 Share on other sites
BlackTriton
Worked on the champion, added more shade than the first Plague marines, as recommended. Also added some drip line, but this model is so busy that there's really not much space for added detail. I will now play around with some typhus corrosion for the metal part. http://i.imgur.com/ZSvFtt3.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/WaMGOg9.jpg Edited August 11, 2017 by BlackTriton Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337887-weeping-legion-wip-cc-welcome/#findComment-4853659 Share on other sites
Mister Feral
So far, solid work! The creams and greens of the armour are nicely done. Only thing I don't think works is the blue you've used on the Champion - it clashes far too much with the other colours, a deep black-purple would be more ideal (since the existing purple is a saturated contrast to the more muted armour colours). I'll keep an eye on this one. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/337887-weeping-legion-wip-cc-welcome/#findComment-4853697 Share on other sites

Purple is indeed the only other option I can think of. Mister Feral
The drip looks like it has a tiny purple tint to it (it might just be the photos) but something like that colour could work. Perhaps even that lovely colour you've used for the cloak?
