So just getting back into the game and looking thru the rules and new Marine Codex, I have noticed a great combo for IF/CF. After doing the math in my head, I was sold on Aggressors with the insane potential damage output from each having 6 shots (if they moved), 12 if they didn't, plus Pedro and using the Bolter Drill strategy.

Example: Pedro + Aggressors with bolt gauntlets + 1 CP IF strategium Bolter Drill = lots of dice, plus rerolls and more dice. In a game last night I rolled around 27 dice to hit and around 17 wounds vs a squad of opposing marines. They all died. :smile.:

What combos are you seeing with other chapters?

assault centurions(flamers and hurricane bolters)+vulkan+flamecraft (1cp) stategium, lots of flamer wounds (re-rollable), add to that a lot of shooting from the HB (with re-rolls of 1's from vulkan) and then a very scary charge!

will deal on average:

vs Orks:
26.3 dmg on shooting
8.14 dmg on melee (24.4 if targets have 3 wounds)
a potential of 50.7 wounds, (or 34 dead orks of 1 wounds each, a whole squad)

vs MEQ:
10.5 dmg on shooting
6.78 dmg on melee (20 if targets have 3 wounds)
a potential of 30.5 wounds, which is scary at the very least.

VS TEQ:
5.2 dmg on shooting
1.36 dmg on melee (4.08 if targets have 3 wounds)
a potential of 9.28 wounds

vs tanks (T8, 3+)
4.66 dmg on shooting
16.28 dmg on melee (assuming multiwounds capacity)
a total of 20.94 wounds, which can kill everything short of some super-heavies and lord of war.

you could even swith 2 flamers for 2 meltaguns on one of them to add flexibility at the cost of horde killing power.

if you can deliver these babies with a storm raven, they will wreck whatever they hit BUT are vulnerable to anti-tanks firepower sinc they have no invulnerable save

So am I missing something there with the first combo? The combo's quoted abilities require a chapter designation. One is iron fists the other crimson fists. Am I kissing something here it does not appear that this would work.

I think the Crimson Fists are a successor chapter of the Imperial Fists, which is why they get access to the stratagem, right?

Imperial Fists, not Iron Fists. You're confusing them with the Iron Hands.

The Crimson Fists are a Second Founding successor of the Imperial Fists. Since they don't have their own chapter tactics, they use the tactics of their founding chapter.
