A few days ago, when Warhammer Community was talking about Chapter Approved 2017 they had said:

"Since Warhammer 40,000: Dark Imperium was launched, we have released several codexes, but there are still plenty of Factions – Orks, Drukhari, Necrons etc. – that don’t yet have a codex of their own. Chapter Approved gives these players a sneak peek of what many of these factions can expect when their codex is released (we are hard on work to get that done as quickly as we can) "

"Chapter Approved will hit the shelves in time for Christmas this year."

If CA2017 is out at the end of the year, and it is giving the above mentioned factions (Orks, Drukhari, Necrons, etc) a peek at what's coming for them, then it seems the Necron codex may not be here until sometime next year.

So we now know that Necrons won't be getting a book this year, but there is Chapter Approved so we can at least look forward to recost units for Matched play and some Faction rules, plus maybe even some Warlord Traits or Relics (those last two are speculation). I'm hoping for less expensive Heavy Destroyers and a faction rule that lets us fall back and shoot, anyone have any other things they'd hope to see change or added?

Oooh, it would be grand if the Doom Scythe didn't get -1 to hit with its death ray but that's more a FAQ/errata thing I think.
