Howdy fellow tread heads.

I'm looking through the IA: Index - Forces of the Astra Militarum and I have a big problem:

The point cost of the Thunderer and the Demolisher cannon puts it a 40 points more than a Demolisher tank (which has one addition hull weapon). Surely the initial points cost of the Thunderer includes the cost of it's cannon. That has to be a typo...

My Thunderer is one of my favorite tanks...

FYI: I just got an email from FW. I had asked about the points cost. They replied that the cost of the Thunderer DOES include the Demolisher Cannon and it will be fixed in the upcoming FAQ.

Going to save the email until that happens.

I figured that maybe the case, still not sure if it's a good purchase for the cost. I have 3 Dracosans I intended to run as Thunderers, but maybe I'll make a makeshift battle cannon/coax gun for them to run as Conquerors. Thank the Emperor for magnets.

Victoria miniatures now has an excellent Conqueror turrets, I will put some pictures of mine up later.

Here are mine unpainted, though I'm almost finished with them:

How much effort did you have to put into getting the mantlet to fit inside the turret? It's the only think putting me off ordering from across the sea.

So minimal... I just used a saw, like you would for clearing big chunks of flash off a forgeworld model, and cut a bit off the back. I put it next to my FW turret to draw the line. It was incredibly easy. For the holes for the magnets I just measured 3mm up from the bottom and did the same on the turret, made a guide hole and started drilling. Note - you don't need to do anything to them and they fit inside the FW turret, but they look better with a little cut off the back.

My saw is something like this: Hobby_Saw_tl5014_600x450px_1_1024x1024_6

I'm pretty sure she designed them with FW / GW parts in mind for conversions...

Sounds nice and simple, just the way a lazy sod like me likes it. Definitely going to have to consider it. Then again though I saw this on shapeways as a Proxy Conqueror Turret:
