Brendaen
Howdy fellow tread heads. I'm looking through the IA: Index - Forces of the Astra Militarum and I have a big problem: The point cost of the Thunderer and the Demolisher cannon puts it a 40 points more than a Demolisher tank (which has one addition hull weapon). Surely the initial points cost of the Thunderer includes the cost of it's cannon. That has to be a typo... My Thunderer is one of my favorite tanks... Halfpint100
Even if it is a typo or not. That is the points cost unfortunately Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338004-forgeworld-thunderer-question/#findComment-4854314 Share on other sites
CoffeeGrunt
It doesn't help that the Demolisher feels pretty lacklustre this edition as well. shandwen
FW has a track record for being off a lot... Hopefully it will get fixed. Eventually. Brendaen
FYI: I just got an email from FW. I had asked about the points cost. They replied that the cost of the Thunderer DOES include the Demolisher Cannon and it will be fixed in the upcoming FAQ. Going to save the email until that happens. duz_, narcolepticltd and Halfpint100 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338004-forgeworld-thunderer-question/#findComment-4862225 Share on other sites
Withershadow
I figured that maybe the case, still not sure if it's a good purchase for the cost. I have 3 Dracosans I intended to run as Thunderers, but maybe I'll make a makeshift battle cannon/coax gun for them to run as Conquerors. Thank the Emperor for magnets. Victoria miniatures now has an excellent Conqueror turrets, I will put some pictures of mine up later. Withershadow
Very nice, shame they don't sell them individually. I'd have to drop $45 on three turrets, and toss the rest. It's the only think putting me off ordering from across the sea. I put it next to my FW turret to draw the line. It was incredibly easy. For the holes for the magnets I just measured 3mm up from the bottom and did the same on the turret, made a guide hole and started drilling. Note - you don't need to do anything to them and they fit inside the FW turret, but they look better with a little cut off the back. My saw is something like this: I'm pretty sure she designed them with FW / GW parts in mind for conversions... Chaplain Gunzhard
I only have the FW turret so I don't know if the GW plastic version is the same size. Definitely going to have to consider it. Then again though I saw this on shapeways as a Proxy Conqueror Turret: https://www.shapeways.com/product/M2VD3MSW9/28mm-invader-tank-turret?li=shareProduct duz_ 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338004-forgeworld-thunderer-question/#findComment-4865225 Share on other sites
