Stewie_Mc
Apologies if this is in the wrong section unsure where's best to put it. I've been recently creating myself a home-brewed chapter l, I've got the majority fleshed out but when I come to modelling I want to use the primaris model for them as it looks great but they won't actually be primaris marines. I'll be converting them to some degree to fit with my choice of loadings but with regards to the bolt rifle they come with am I right in thinking that's a primaris marine only weapon? Bryan Blaire
If they all have them, what's the difference between them and a "bolter/bolt gun"? Stewie_Mc
Very true didn't really think about that. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338061-using-primaris-models-for-standard-marines/#findComment-4855702 Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
I personally would still swap to marines bolters, purely for *those* people you may game with/against. It will also provide consistency within the force. There's also a chance that in the future Primaris may find a way into your force and you won't need to worry about differentiating between them, it's future proofing against yourself :tu: Cheers, Jono Semper Fortis and Stewie_Mc 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338061-using-primaris-models-for-standard-marines/#findComment-4855712 Share on other sites
Bryan Blaire
If you mixed Primaris in with Primaris-as-Standard-Astartes, you're already going to have a confusing enough situation, simply having normal sized bolters isn't going to really be much of a differentiation just by looking. The difference between a bolter and a "bolt rifle" is pretty much limited to a 2-3 mm extension forward of the hand grip. I'm not sure of the OP's plans, but I would also be doing helmet swaps for the norm marines too to further differentiate between them. GrandMagnus
It's quite easy to swap the bolt rifle for a standard boltgun. All you need is a hand with boltgun, a open left hand(the kind that hold the weapons), a small saw blade, a hobby knife, some greenstuff and of course glue. You start by cutting off the hands holding the rifle by the wrists. Then you add a bit of greenstuff to the left wrist and sculpt it to look like soft armour. Let it dry. Then you can add the boltgun and holding hand, as usual. Quick and easy, also looks good. Sure thing :) : http://i.imgur.com/yAxRbJo.jpg?1 As you can see both hands are from standard marines as well as the bolter. Here is another picture, a WIP were you can see the greenstuff soft armour. I sadly don't have any better pictures and I won't be back home until very late tonight, but I can try to get some better images tomorrow if you want. http://i.imgur.com/XP82otn.jpg?1 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338061-using-primaris-models-for-standard-marines/#findComment-4861165 Share on other sites
