Hi Guys,

Here is the humble beginings of my HH ultramarines. I have gone for a really beat up post/during calth force. Army wise I am going for an elite army full of Veteran Tactical squads, Terminators and of course Guilliman himself!

First up is a veteran squad. This was a quick job took my about 3 weeks in all, including a little side track job painting some haramaki for an infinity.

So here it is, the first veterans of calth!

Great stuff, very crisp!  The faces and the bases look great too.

Thanks mate, favourite part funily enough for me in the hobby is basing, weird but I have always loved it.

Looks a great start, looking forward to seeing more.

Are they the plastic shoulder pads rather than the FW ones?

Thanks mate, yep they are the plastic GW kit, prefer it over the FW ones as I really don't like their design.

Just awesome, very thematic! Impressed!

Thanks a tone!

Love the green lenses, very different to standard GW. Additionally the Green Plasma effect looks cool. Looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks mate, went fir green simply because I suck at red! ;)

Perhaps all this green is a sign that not all Alpha Legion marines did equally well at Subtle Camouflage 101 ? Just a thought. ☺

Cracking job, I especially like those bases!

Thanks! Nice and easy to do, just oils and pigments!

Heheheheheheh, well we have yet to get on to the Orphan and Aeonid! Edited by Lambda

That said, I think it's a cracking paint job BECAUSE it's muted and less blingy than standard Ultra fare - more Alpha and understated as previously opined.

Agreed, I like the blingy style but I always end up going down the muted path. Probably due to the fact that I was a military modeller before coming to wargaming. Certainly took some inspiration from Migsulas true scale Alpha Legion project!
