Sooo looks like the rumoured Steel Legion turned out to be Necromunda?

is that the end of those rumours altogether?

I don't think the rumours were much to begin with, could easily have been someone putting things together with a guess. Wait and see, as always ;)

It was based on the Rumour Engine post of a plastic Laspistol piece from a sprue. People assumed it was Steel Legion, but it might be from Necromunda.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment My understanding is that this came from Necromunda bits in the end and is probably someone making a leap to assuming Steel Legion are coming as a link to Armageddon. Could still turn out to be true, but there's nothing to back it up yet so we'll need to see what happens.

I've been holding my breath for plastic Mordians since 1998... actually I stopped a long while ago.

As much as I would love to have new plastic guard infantry I don't expect it. Fortunately now there is an amazing range of 3rd party options too! :D

I think it was the lasgun barrel and the logo that helped fuel the rumors.

Well, we know for sure that the logo referenced Necromunda, but do we know for sure that the Las Pistol/Carbine did as well?

There have been rumors of plastic greatcoat guard since... maybe a year or two after the Cadians came out? It's on everyone's wishlist, but unfortunately I think we need more than a laspistol to go on before we start thinking it's any more than wishful thinking.

I always thought that laspistol was always far too retro 80's GW to be Steel Legion.   As we now know it belongs to the new House Escher Necromunda gangers, which makes sense.
