Chapter Master in low-point games

Id imagine, in general for Ultramarines, it would be better to take Marneus Calgar instead of upgrading a captain, if you really want the rerolls? 80 or so points over an upgraded (Primaris) Captain gets you 5SP, a better and more survivable close combat fighter, and he looks quite impressive on the table top as well.

 

I suppose it doesnt apply if you want to go all Primaris, but hes still the Chapter Master.

 

If you dont want to take Marneus Calgar, you might as well run the cheapest LT you can, since we have so many strategems that provide rerolls of 1 to hit, and then take either a Librarian for some psychic defense and buffs, or Chronus to man the Predator.
