OnboardG1
Hi folks, I've had an issue with my Necron Compound and I'm not sure whether it's me or the paint. It looks like the right consistency (silver peanut butter) but when I apply it it seems to shoot little specks of dried metallic dust all over the mini. I've not seen this when drybrushing before but it might be a quirk of the dry paints I'm not used to. I had to airdust my dread with my airbrush to remove the sparkly vampire effect from the last drybrush I tried. I'm wondering if the paint is drying very quickly in the bristles and then breaking off as I brush. In terms of application you want to have very little on your brush (doing a few strokes on a paper towel is good before hitting the model). Are you edging with it? I tend to favor coventional metallics for this purpose. A fine sponge is a good way to do paint chipping. I cleaned most of it off the brush prior to application as Duncan teaches.
