Hi folks, I've had an issue with my Necron Compound and I'm not sure whether it's me or the paint. It looks like the right consistency (silver peanut butter) but when I apply it it seems to shoot little specks of dried metallic dust all over the mini. I've not seen this when drybrushing before but it might be a quirk of the dry paints I'm not used to. I had to airdust my dread with my airbrush to remove the sparkly vampire effect from the last drybrush I tried. I'm wondering if the paint is drying very quickly in the bristles and then breaking off as I brush.

One thing with Necron Comp is its a very dry paint to begin with. In terms of application you want to have very little on your brush (doing a few strokes on a paper towel is good before hitting the model).

Are you edging with it? I tend to favor coventional metallics for this purpose. A fine sponge is a good way to do paint chipping.

Highlights for metals that have been washed with nuln oil for the most part. I cleaned most of it off the brush prior to application as Duncan teaches.
