OnboardG1
If we're ever going to see Berzerkers and Noise Marines gain more weapon options like Plague and Rubric Marines I certainly hope for Excoriator Great Chain Axes and two handed Palatine Blades. To me it would be an awesome alternative option to that of say Plasma Pistols and other two handed ranged weaponry choices. Noise Marine with special melee weapons would be awesome. Like sonic knifes that generate more attacks or have good AP on 6s or whatever. And yeah two handed chain axes for Berzerkers of course! Basically Eviscerators. I'd be throwing money at FW's nostraman chainglaives if Zerks had 2H weapon options. I really like the Forge World concepts for it, the way the Emperor's Children elites fought like Fulgrim makes it very flavourful. Likewise the lack of XBOX HUGE Axes on Berzerkers has been itching for years now also. Offcourse all we can do is hope that GW agrees on those statements. I am very happy for Thousand Sons and Death Guard to recieve their updates, by large also because building their units always was more of a hassle than ours. Despite their age most parts of Berzerkers and Noise Marines still can work out in this edition of Chaos. A sculpt that remains relevant over 10+ years is a good one :P Sonic knifes or Lashes of Slaanesh could also be very interesting. I'd imagne that to this date they'd still be some inspired by Fulgrim also so I'm not even counting out the prospect of double bladed Emperor's Children as an alternative to their ranged variants. And please, someone at GW give zerks flamers or handflamers. Otherwise they can only Kill! & Maim! Hah! Yeah that's one also, though at least now the Berzerker Champion can have a Power Fist and a Combi Flamer ;)... small steps! Khornestar
Out of curiosity, where was the chainsword "free" attack thing clarified? I'm trying to find it in the errata and I'm not seeing it. Khornestar
Apologies for not being clear, that's not what I meant. What I'm asking is, where was it verified by GW that you don't need to make any attacks with the chainsword to get the extra attack as part of its profile? Based on the wording, that's how I'd play it, but if I wanted to show someone who disagrees what GW's response was regarding the issue, I wanted something beyond "it just works that way, dude." Silly, as are most rules disagreements, but the answer can help avoid wasted time/headaches. Commissar K.
Yeah I thought it was covered in the Errata but upon further investigating it doesn't actually say specifically that you get all of the bonusses...Now I do still assume GW wants us to use it like it that but I am uncertain aswell. One of the thing is though is that the Chainsword in particular states that you can make one additional attack using that weapon. Which leaves the suggestion that everytime you would make an attack a check is to be made, which might or might not also apply when you are actually at the end of your attacks and have 0 left. If this is the case the Chainsword can still be used because 0 plus one additional still adds up to 1 attack being available to make with a Chainsword. Now my opponents have all too assumed that this is how it more or less works but Im not 100% certain about it either. A similar question was also asked by someone on the Facebook page in regards to our additional Legion Trait attack and if it applied to both Fights for our units if they charged and it does. THUNDERFISTS
The chainsword thing seems pretty silly, no one I've ever talked to sees it any other way. It's very self-explanatory. 9 zerkers with axes, chainswords, and a champ with a powerfist and chainsword in a Rhino with a Dark Apostle (second with an Exalted Champ) is the way to go. Nothing stops them except the attention of ALL guns, and even then a couple zerkers will get there and choppy chop. Need to get a third unit going... Also rerolling everything makes me feel like a dirty elf from 8th WHFB, but it feels good now to turn the tables and kill, maim, burn, etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338367-8th-edition-khorne-berzerkers-thread/page/2/#findComment-4876757 Share on other sites

The extra firepower on the run in is kind of nice.
