When GW revealed the fluff behind the Primaris, I really clung to the idea that these newboys were intended to replenish depleted chapters.  After losing two of our Great Companies in such heroic fashion in the Cadia campaign, I wanted to dedicate any Primaris kits I purchased to rebuilding these great companies.

I present for your consideration my first contribution to a refreshed Iron Wolves collection:

BRP 4007

BRP 4016

BRP 4022

BRP 4024

Well done! Nice and clean with great colors! Whats next?

I've got to finish up Bjorn...no excuse not to; I use him in almost every game now, and he's a part of my vow!  Also on deck are a razorback, wolf guard bikes, Primaris Lieutenant, and a squad of Hellblasters.  All of the above are in various states of completion...I'll get some pictures up soon.

Longer term I have a couple of razorbacks that are several years old and need to be stripped down and brought back up to my current painting standard.  (They kind of languished in seventh edition in the age of TWC.)  Same with about 3 squads of grey hunters.  I also want to get my hands on a couple of boxes of aggressors, which seem to have pretty amazing potential as a screen for my vehicles.

GW did a great and terrible thing, putting Egil Ironwolf in the center of much of the action in that multi-part serial between WZ Fenris I and II.  Then they snatch him away in horrible fashion in Part II, after we get to know this wolf lord better and become attached to him.  I mean they don't even leave recognizable remains of the dude.  I poke fun at GW's ham-fisted writing much of the time, but they effectively manipulated me in that regard.

Then with the entire company falling in heroic but futile defense of Cadia...it will be a labor of love to build up a great company around them, featuring Primaris reinforcements.  I know there's a lot bad to be said of the Primaris fluff, but I think it's great that we've been given a plausible vehicle to resurrect lost companies or even chapters.

That sir, is a beautifully painted vehicle. Looks like a fantastic combination of airbrush and sable.

I can see the investment in time and it was worth it. You have skills, I tip my hat to you.

However, you have embraced Primaris -so you are still a HERETIC!  :dry.:
