Dragonlover
So I've had an idea kicking around for a while to do some warbands based on the various Minor Ordos of the Inquisition, but I'm a bit at a loss of where to start or how to proceed. Up to now the only thing I've worked on is my Nine Legions project, which is a very macro thing compared to something like this. It's definitely no going to care *too* much about in game usability, although I'll aim for that where I can. Currently, the plan is to pick up some Scions, Skitarii, Kataphrons and Genestealer Cult boxes and just kinda start modelling from there, with other stuff as seasoning. The Ordos I intend to do are as follows: Chronos: Investigators of what happens when time goes squiffy due to the warp. I'm probably gonna theme them around a space hulk exploration team. Astartes: They oversee the Marine Chapters, and gave the order to disband the Wolf Brothers. Will probably contain a Marine, which I'll truescale using a converted Primaris. Sicarius: Assassin-Inquisitors. Also the genesis of the project in many ways, since I started trying to work out what that actually looks like. Plan is to make an Inquisitor from the Vanus temple, with the team being an Execution Force. Barbarus: These guys monitor pre-industrial worlds. Not 100% sure about this one, but the idea of making an Inquisitorial warband without using any tech is kind of intriguing. I suspect heavy use of AoS kits here if I do do it. I may also do one-off models from the other Minor Ordos as the mood strikes, but we'll see how that pans out. Any suggestions for other kits to pick up gratefully received. I'm very new to this way of thinking about the hobby, so my bits box is basically empty for the purposes of this project. brettfp
Similar ideas have often crossed my mind. Unfortunately beyond what you've said i dont have much else to add, it seems like a good start. I would suggest looking at bits sites for grey knights bits as they have inq symbols and other little things that go well with inquisition. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338493-modelling-the-minor-ordos/#findComment-4864868 Share on other sites
JaqTaar
I kinda imagine Ordo Chronos members to lean towards the esoteric and would perhaps look at wizards and priests from the Warhammer Fantasy/Age of Sigmar ranges. The Hurricanum/Luminark kit for example might be used for a divinatory machine of sorts?!For the Ordo Astartes: Aren't the Minotaurs rumored to be specialized in fighting other Marines? Dragonlover
I was thinking Minotaurs myself. I'm not sure where to go with the mortal members of that warband, in 7th it would have been Scions but hotshot lasguns aren't the Marine-killers they once were. For the Ordo Chronos I was thinking of a similar thing. I want to base the Inquisitor themself on the Chaos Cultist champion with a sword, probably with some kind of gizmo in the other hand. Nicodemus Doloroso
On the other hand, Scions are actually reasonably priced now, so that more than makes up for the current AP values. Dragonlover Why use mortals at all, an Inquisitor HQ and some Minotaur units fall nicely in to the brief.
