Helias_Tancred
... in 2000-2500 point games? I've always wanted one. But I'm not sure it would be worth fielding in most games I play, which are between 2000-2500 point games? Does anyone have any experience actually using one in a game? Thanks. apologist
While a cool centrepiece, any single model that consumes such a significant proportion of the points value of the game tends to result in fewer choices for you and your opponent, in turn making for more skewed results and less fun. Of course, that doesn't apply for scenario or narrative gaming – having a superheavy be the target of a raid, or spearheading an assault, is a cool concept and could be a lot of fun. :) I just don't think that such a model is a good idea for 'regular' gaming. Riot Earp
Well it also looks good on the shelf. :) I have alot of Superheavies and mostly they don´t see much action. If you want to play him often and you have some buddies who like apokalypse size games then yes buy one. If you think you would him field not that often. Think about if you need an beatiful paperweight for that money. Indefragable
Personally, fighting a single model for a whole game is not my thing. I would find it boring. For a larger-points game? Then it could be fun. A side bonus for owning one is that it makes a GREAT set piece for a themed battle. "GO!!!! GED TOO DA CHOPPA!" Blindhamster
Ive used mine in a number of games, but always very large ones, and not since 8th ed. Still love it! Brother_Mike
Regardless of any tactical or strategic considerations, if it makes you happy, get it. I find if one likes a unit enough, one will find a way to make that unit work well in a game. Boudan
It is the pinnacle of any space marine army. If you have the means, what is the question? tychobi
for 2k to 2.5k a Thunderhawk would be a tad much. Well outside of competitive tournament stuff anyway. If you are willing to loose sportsmanship anyway. Hard to transport too. If it is a centerpiece for a grand army then do it! Do it now! . . .well if you have the cash to spare. 600$ us. whew Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338576-is-a-blood-angel-thunderhawk-gunship-worth-it/#findComment-4867667 Share on other sites
