XstaSea
I heard some guys talking about a Grey Knight mortal wound smitebomb combo that is possible. I was wondering if someone could explain to me what the combo is and if its worth the points. From looking at the codex and trying to work it out myself i came up with 2 x 5 man Purifier Squads Paladin/Brotherhood Ancient with the banner of flame Crowe Brothercaptain /Bro Cap Stern So this gives you 5 smite casts, most rolling D6 for mortal wounds and the range increased by the Bro Cap. I also know there is a strategem to increase auro abilities to make sure everyone benefits from the range multiplier. Is this the combo they were talking about? I mean i can see it working and dishing out a ton of mortal wounds but you still need to get within 6 inches, or am i missing something? Im guessing this is a strategy that would need to be used to go after one scary unit and take it out with a bit of luck. Im just trying to find ways to use purifiers, i really like the models/lore but finding it hard to bring them currently... What do you guys think? XstaSea
Wow ... I was thinking grey knight only tho. Surely there's some cheese to be had with just our codex? Soder
Crowe can attempt to manifest 2 psychic powers, so purifying flame and Purge soul or vortex of doom to cause additional mortal wounds as well.. I dunno, can't think of any other options other than already mentioned above Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338692-smitebomb-combo/#findComment-4869235 Share on other sites
Gentlemanloser
I suppose the purifier bomb would be two 5 man purifiers, bc, crowe, ancient with relic banner in a LR, that's gated first turn. Second turn they all disembark, move into range and drop 4 cleansing flames and 1 smite. RaEndymion
I personally like Crowe, 3 x 5 man purifier squads in a land raider crusader. Gate of Infinity the land raider right into the face of the enemy turn 1. Then on turn 2 throw a Brother Captain, Paladin/Brotherhood Ancient with the relic banner in a stormraven and get them out nearby and smite for days.
