Was curious what tactics everyone is using against heavy mechanized armies.  There is a large amount of IG players where I live and so far I am getting beat down every game because of the artillery, tanks, and number of troops.  What have you guys/gals, if any, success have you had and what was your strategy?

I haven't played against IG yet this edition, but I've found venerable dreadnoughts to be great at tankhunting, and I imagine a couple of Vindicare assassins would really wreck an IG players game plan by eliminating key characters. The ability to ignore morale losses, and to fire after falling back are key to IG infantry tactics so deleting their characters takes a lot of utility away from their army.

IG are really good this edition.... very, very good. GW acknowledged on their facebook that the Conscripts need to be tweaked.

I've seen even 'turned down' IG lists that are extremely competitive, but Conscript/Parking lot is exceptionally tough. I wouldn't worry too much and try not to take it too seriously. To be fair DW are possibly one of the worst match ups you could have.

I honestly wouldn't bother with snipers. I gave up on them a long time ago. Most IG characters are very used to this and just keep the aura / order giving characters a vehicle to sit behind. Honestly I wish I had good advice for you, but I've tried Landraiders, flyers, snipers, assault. IG just have a very good, unbreakable blob that can leave CC and shoot 100 flashlights into you. (I've lost half a dozen LR wounds to flashlights with 1st rank/2nd rank).

The parking lot takes care of indirect fire/massed support. Deep striking specialists carry hotshot las and specials in Cmd Squads. Flanks are usually covered with flame tanks in case you do get in there.

Landraiders have the tools, but mine don't make it. The flyer has no where to put its base. Realistically you need to find a way to kill off the chaff in order to reach the (often out of LoS) tanks. In this edition, I really have no idea what GW was thinking giving unbreakable blobs to so many armies. Easily one of the most obviously frustrating parts of 40K.... minions that can't be affected, and elite armies that are very susceptible to moral.... ??? Sorry, just frustrated at the mechanics right now.

I think even Ynarri have issues with that kind of list. Tournies will tell in time. I've always said we needed psychic powers to specialize in some of these areas. The DW model count makes it very difficult to compete with lists like this.

That's the is

Thats the issue I have been having against guard.  There is a huge IG player base where I live and a lot of people I play with bring very dull lists, to their standard, but I end up getting steam rolled.  I had one guys bring no tanks and just a blob cause he was tired of watching me get tabled turn 4/5 and he tabled me turn 3 haha.  I'm just trying to figure out what a solution is to fighting these guys.

DW suffers from expensive models with access to fewer tools while not being any tougher to kill...its kind of the perfect recipe to lose lol. Hopefully the codex addresses these issues, but we may not see that until Xmas or later :/

I realize they have the Corvus and FCs, but they give up so many other tools for those...

I'd say make sure you play objective games. It does give you a slightly better chance. Not much else to offer. I haven't fought the blob madness yet, but I have fought a heavy tank army. Objectives and victory points saved me despite being tabled.

EDIT: Other than tossing your guys in transports, maybe shotguns, flamers or combi-flamers paired with a frag cannon could help against blobs. Hard to defend against 100 flashlights straight up other then diverting fire.
