Sete
So I'm planning to use Mephiston as a literal son of the Emperor, or a sensei. Using a Custodes model as a base what bits could I add? Head: maybe one of the Stormcast barehead? Weapon: will Guillimans sword be too big for this purpose? Shoulder pads: Sanguinary Guard? choppyred
I think that the stormcast vanguard-hunters have a bare head that would be perfect for your project. Guillimans sword is longer than a Custode is tall, so mabye a little big, try maybe a greay knight force sword with some GS flames. As for pads I think that Sanguinary guard pads would look small on a custodes body, personaly I would stick with the custode pads. This sounds like a great project I love the old sensei fluff from The Lost And The Damned, will you be doing a whole warband? MyD4rkPassenger
The fire sword from the Fantasy battle wizard box might fit the bill, and I agree the vanguard have some fantastic bare heads. Sete
I will just be doing 1 guy to "lead" a group of Custodes and assorted Imperium forces. (Just brainstorming during my holidays.) I would like to add a couple more details to make him a bit different from the regular Custodes. GK terminator sword is a great option. I don't need the flaming details tbh. Head maybe the one with long hair. A shame that SG shoulder pads are a bit smaller. Just need to get an iron halo, the Custodes kit has a cape. What else could I add to give him a bit of personality? choppyred
Master-Crafted Miniatures make some good 3rd party pads and if you go for the large ones they would be the right size for custodes. Arkeo Nox
Oh oh ! I haven't been there for a while ! Seems we have some good heresy over here ! I think Guilliman is a realy good base, you have the size, the sword, ... just add Cusodes bitz and you will be good to go :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338801-how-to-model-the-emperor/#findComment-4876630 Share on other sites
Nicodemus Doloroso
The fire sword from the Fantasy battle wizard box might fit the bill, and I agree the vanguard have some fantastic bare heads. It might be a touch small for Custodes. I used that sword for my own Mephiston conversion using mostly Sanguinary Guard bitz. I'm not sure how SG stack up against Custodes as I've never seen a Custodes model in the flesh, but here's how that sword looks on a Sanguinary Guard body: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338801-how-to-model-the-emperor/#findComment-4876899 Share on other sites
