so would anyone be upset if i turned up with a glottkin and used it as an renagade knight ?  (paladin)

there about the same size, the rule fit the model with the wounds, its armour saves can be put under its bloatedness as discusting resiliance.

even tho i like the idea of converting a knight the glottkin already looks awesome and the part, it also fits the theame of all the new nurgle releases.

Our very own Lagrath seems to have used maggoth parts to make maulerfiends... so it would appear that they are approximately the same size, with the maggoth being a bit taller thanks to back spikes and having a rider. Both fiendish beasties are significantly smaller than the Glottkin.

My Knight is a Glotkin conversion using both kits.

Took about 12 hours to convert.

I've since painted it and it looks really good on the table.

Yeah that's how I'd recognize it as Knight. Otherwise it looks too much like it could be a Great Unclean one instead.

Also you have to use the [ img ] tags if you want to make a picture show. ;)

I wouldn't mind personally, but remember that rule 1 applies (have fun and let other have fun too) and let them know what it is, and show them the unit's profile if they want to see it. I'd also avoid doing anything thats non-thematic. I.e. there isnt an equivalent of the thermal cannon, so dont have the model playing as a knight equipped with a thermal cannon

I think if you want it as a Knight you need to find a way to use as many Knight parts as possible, I used everything except the legs and copious amounts of green stuff. I won't lie, it's one of the most ambitious conversions I've done and I've done quite a few, the fear comes from the fact you're cutting up 2 very expensive kits. The biggest tip I can give is to dry fit and measure everything several times, also don't fear making a mistake, with green stuff and bits even a balls up can be fixed.

I was in a rush leaving the house so couldn't be bothered linking it properly, all fixed nice now

Well to be fair if you were wanting to use another systems units as something it looks nothing like normally then you should at least put some effort into converting it to represent , just look at Dallas Drakes' gorgeous model yes it uses the glotkon as a base but there will be no confusion what it is meant to be compared to just slapping an unconverted Glotkin on the table and explaining that it is a knight and has weapons clearly not modelled on it. I mean having it as a count as for a game or two isn't so bad but anymore and you may encounter some issues Edited by Plaguecaster

Dallas that is beautiful and exactly what I had in mind when I do up my own knight.

Care to share more pics with the class??

Here you go. Like I said, it's a doable conversion. The hard part is attaching the Knight 'torso' to the Glotkin legs, I also attached the Glotkin back to the Knight torso, I ordered about 5 feet of green stuff off ebay but also use a lot of bluetac to fill in gaps as when you build it you need to bulk out the space in order to get it to glue then green stuff. The advantage of using the Knight torso is that you can then have the weapon fitting, which I magnetised, and the pouldrons and caraoace to get that 'Knight' look.

I was all set to run mine as a Nurgle Renegade Knight but *snip* they went the way of the dodo unfortunately :verymad:

I would post new pics of it painted up in Black Legion colours but I'm converting Obliterators and painting Brims & Blue Horrors so my work space is a bit of a mess. I will get around to it at some point, promise...

The forgefiend hades cannons do look fantastic on knights.

If you're looking for that topshell piece to convert your glotkin into a more knight-looking knight, try to find someone with the FW chaos knight model.  The forgeworld bits replace that top shell, so they may still have the parts to spare.

Ok, so I've been planning to convert my Glottkin into a Knight just for fun for a while and I finally got some Knight armour and the Reaper chainsword

I don't however have any access to the guns and no one will bloody sell me any (someone scammed me too!), so I was wondering whether you reckoned I could just use the right hand with the open maw as the gun and chalk/fluff it up as warp nonsense rather than having to model something I can't seem to get hold of

Well it depends on how fixated your usual group is on WYSIWYG.

Personally I think the cannon arm Glottkin comes with looks fine as a rapid fire battle cannon (phlegm bombs just like soul grinder). The tentacle is a little tricky to call a reaper chainsword so I just call that a fist (that tentacle could totally HURL an enemy). I glued a Cultist with heavy stubber on the base, then cut and magnetized the different carapace weapons for his back.

I was also contemplating converting Glottkin into a Leviathan because they are of similar height, but then I decided I wanted to do that with the new primaris Dread.
