So I've played a few games now where I've run a single Crusader unit and they've single-unittedly carried games I should have lost. This has got me thinking about them in comparison to the other Ministorum melees and while at first glance DCAs seem insanely better with 1 higher strength and twice the attacks, I'm starting to think that Crusaders might just be better in practice.

This is just my experience though so I could be getting pretty lucky but both squads in all 3 games I played with them seemed to perform well just with Crusaders by far outperforming the DCAs because they just survive everything that gets thrown at them unlike the DCAs.

Plus the fact that they benefit from AoF, SoF AND Zealot on top for 1/2 power or 15 points makes me think they may be hidden op if not outright op. Flying under the radar you might say.

Am I the only one who's been thinking this or have you peeps had similar situations?

I run Crusaders far more often than any other AdMin Elite unit (Characters not included). They have, time and time again, been a very solid and cheap rock for the sort of armies I play.

That and my friend made some great female Crusaders for me, so they look on point as well.

I'm starting to consider running a melee based Ministorum list because of how well they've been over and over again. And they're just too cheap not to pass up compared to Arco-Flagellants and DCAs. Doesn't mean I won't have any of those either but my mainstay may just become Crusaders

AFs and DCAs are the same and cost +2 more respectively, but you're right in that they are functionally far more expensive. The issue is they require support to get up the field, so you almost have to tack on the cost of a Rhino. Same with Repentia. Crusaders can obviously benefit from being in a Rhino, but the combo of a 3+ invulnerable and low target priority makes it a null issue most of the time. Acros and Repentia have no chance footslogging while DCAs have close to zero as well.
