Jarl Deathwolf
I was considering splitting the Dark Imperium boxed set with my Chaos-playing relative. I am not too keen on the Primaris troop choices, but I heard that they are about the size of Wulfen. I don't have any Wulfen myself nor any of the Primaris, so I was wondering if anyone has turned the Primaris troops into Wulfen? Are there enough weapons in one box of Wulfen to provide for 10 extra bodies? Kassill
Yes, Wulfen bits and Primaris bodies make for dynamic figures munocat 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338956-primaris-as-wulfen/#findComment-4874792 Share on other sites

jerrys
This isn't exactly what you asked, but... I didn't want to have werewolves in my army (sue me). So I am working to make some "counts as wulfen" out of primaris (reivers) and terminators. I figure I'll paint them up as wolf guard and have them be sort of the Jarl's elite huskarls, whose mere presence on the battlefield inspires their battle-brothers to feats of greatness. Especially the impressionable blood-claws... I didn't finish them yet (bases & pauldrons), but here they are so far: Wolf Guard Dan, Jarl Deathwolf, Kasper_Hawser and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338956-primaris-as-wulfen/#findComment-4875130 Share on other sites
Jarl Deathwolf
They look suitably heroic, to be sure. That was a big part of my reasoning in getting the primaris bodies - to thin out the wolfy-ness, and make them less "feral monsters" and more "berserkers." Do the Wulfen sprues come with enough weapons to arm an extra 10 models? I am glad to see that terminator weapons look good on them. I know I at least have a lot of terminator claws left over, and I might have some spare shields and hammers. Jochteas
jerrys I totally understand. I have yet to get any wulfen models for that very reason. I'm a big looks guy, if it doesn't look :cussing cool i won't do it, and the Wulfen models as are, are less then stellar for me, but those Primaris wolves you got look fantastic. Jarl Deathwolf
I got the Dark Imperium boxed set and assembled the Wulfen out of 4 of the Intercessors and 1 of the Lieutenant models. I'm pretty happy with them, though the models didn't give me much to work with. Still, they look the sort that will be going toe to toe with the worst monsters and villains the 41st millennium has to offer. Here is what they look like, all painted and based: http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l612/Jarl_Deathwolf96/ThaneWulfen_zpsxe8o3fcj.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338956-primaris-as-wulfen/#findComment-4895476 Share on other sites
Gherrick
Well, I will say the wulfen weapons are awesome, and blow away the stock TDA ones (especially the shields). You will end up with a fair number of extra weapons, depending on which ones you choose, and I bet you can make most work with standard TDA arms (the axes might be a bit rough). As I have used the Axes for regular Character models: Cut out one of the hands (either left or right, depending on what you need) cleanly and glue the two remaining pieces together - Tadaa! Marvelous one handed Axes! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/338956-primaris-as-wulfen/#findComment-4895658 Share on other sites
DanPesci
On a related note, picked up burning of prospero a couple months back, mainly for doing some more heresy era feel wolves...but currently in the middle of seeing how i can use the custodes models for counts as wulfen if they are painted up in wolf colours (as these days, they're about the same size as primaris marines!)...main issue is going to be the helmets and the shields which look way too 'emperors golden boys' to fit...but we'll see :) Will post pics if i end up with anything half way decent.
