Is Celestine really OP/undercosted?

On the other hand, overpowered units are bad even if they're in your army.

Anyway, I've not played with Celestine enough to have a real opinion, she seems very good to me, not sure if she need adjustment or not.

Shes a heavy hitter but at the end of the days shes just a collection of T3 wounds with armour that can be easily bypassed in this day of rending ap. She doesnt deal mortal wounds or anything crazy like that and she certainly cant ignore them.

She might have been great in the index days, but there's a lot of codex stuff that makes her seem weak. See GMDK with a 2++ or Voldus

It's worth noting how she (and any attached sister unit) was used in the mixed tourney lists - she isn't the heavy lifter or backbone of any of them but rather a cheap unit to pick of stragglers and provide a big distraction, which is something she is really good at.

Commisar Yarrick :3, 130pts

Ah, of course. I must have been thrown off by his lack of wings, lack of resurrection, lack of anything resembling a living saint weapon and the fact that he's not a living saint.

Guard don't need more stuff.

This is my typical response to anyone suggesting Celestine is OP/undercosted/needing a nerf:

Heretics.

...now, because Sisters players can't have nice things, I fully expect her to get wanked somehow.

But don't leave it up to me...if it were up to me, I'd have her keep her points, raise to T4 and A8.

But that's just me.

I suppose it's more because she's one of the fastest moving distractions currently in the game.

On the first turn she can be so deep into the enemy territory and can basically tie up any unit you want out of action next turn. Force that big thing or big blob to fall back if they want to use it.

I dunno. I think Living Saint status should be reserved to unique named character models. I do think we could benefit from more flavors of Living Saint, but a customizable HQ is something we need as well. Bring back Canoness with jump pack, bring back Palatine.

Sisters have the core fundamentals of a decent codex, it just needs built on. Give us more options and more "viable" ways to play our army without having to dip into other imperial factions for this unit or that unit.

There's no reason that they should be magic. But a living saint is so rare that they should be named characters. And there is a lot that a mere mortal could do which can be attributed to an inspiring presence, no warp powered shenanigans required.

Anyway... this thread seems to have reached the end of its natural life and has desolved into the usual 'off topicness'.
