Nekro83
Hi Guys! I am about to order some tactical squads to start some 30k Iron warriors. I was thinking to mix bits Of mk3 and mk4 marines ( plastic GW), to break the monotony. I only fear that mk4 legs will look too skinny under mk3 torsos...what do you think about the result? Anyone of you did this? any Photo? My Thanks Edited September 10, 2017 by Nekro83 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/339220-mixing-mk3-and-mk4-bits-for-30k-space-marines/ Share on other sites
MikhalLeNoir
Yap. They do. However you could increase the thickness with a bit of green stuff and the problem is solved Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/339220-mixing-mk3-and-mk4-bits-for-30k-space-marines/#findComment-4882151 Share on other sites
Kinstryfe
Agree that they don't quite look right when legs and torsos are mixed. I've found arms and heads look ok mixed a bit, but the mkIII torso and legs seem to want to be together. MkIII with more advanced MkIV helmets, or MkIV with up armored arms on dangerous weapons troopers can look alright. It may look a little better if you expand into the odd MkV or field repair piece, or even battlefield scavenged MkVI or MkVII pieces if you're placing your army far enough along in the heresy timeline. Give them a real rag-tag appearance and a sense of supply problems making them salvage whatever they can for repairs. That way there's enough mixing and matching that the odd unusual matchup makes sense.
