Claws and Effect
Hey guys. Need some input on a rather ambitious plan I have. Specifically, I'm going to do a crossover fanfiction between 40K and the Dresden Files. Nebulous plot idea has Corax appearing in the Dresdenverse sometime after he disappeared into the Eye of Terror. Because Warp stuff. Essentially, I wanted to explore an out of the box idea of what he had to do to atone for his actions. Which conveniently combines two of my all time favorite franchises. Since I currently don't have the money to purchase the Black Library books featuring Corax, I was hoping some of my fellow Raven Guard fans could help me out with some notes on his personality. I will be getting the books eventually, but writing is free and I wanted to get started on it sooner rather than later. I'm not that strong of a writer (yet). I have a couple ideas for original stuff and decided to do some fanfiction to refine my writing technique before I try and create something of my own. I'll be posting the story on fanfiction.net if anyone wants to read it. I'll let y'all know when I come up with a title. Damo1701
While planning the Istvaan attack with Ferrus and Vulkan, he was quiet until the arguing of his brothers reached a certain point, and nothing was going to be sorted. As you would expect, he was wrathful on the battlefield against Lorgar, but, Curze almost had him. During the retreat, from the Urgall Depression, Corax chose the Strike and Fade tactics to keep as many legionaries alive as possible, and, rather than explore the rescue by Captain Brann, accepted it as it was, but only left the planet after the last legionaries were aboard the rescue craft. On Terra, Corax was driven both to see the Emperor, and when it came time to take the Primarch material. He didn't brook interference from those who tried to interject themselves in his mission, but he incorporated them into his plans as he needed them. When it came time to decide the outcome of the "tainted" Raptors, Corax wouldn't countenance them being euthanized, however, having them fall in battle was perfectly acceptable. From this, I've seen Corax as a troubled individual, from what he had to do during the Deliverance Uprising, but, very humane towards both humans and astartes, not getting them killed if he can avoid it. However, with that said, he isn't afraid to send men to their deaths in order to achieve his objectives. EDIT - post got eaten by the scrapcode... <script> </script> Edited September 11, 2017 by Damo1701 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/339264-corax-personality-quirks/#findComment-4883374 Share on other sites
Claws and Effect
Oh, forgot to add: I'm okay with spoilers. I've stumbled across enough of them I know pretty much what happens in most of the books. So if something is relevant to my question feel free to share it even if it spoils something from one of the books. Please put it under the spoiler filter though. I don't care about spoilers, but other people might. Don't want to ruin anything for anyone. I'll go back and edit, it never occurred to me that, while people may not own the books, they haven't read them. If I haven't bought a book, I'll have borrowed it from teh local library. Anyhow, glad you are ok with it.... Lol. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/339264-corax-personality-quirks/#findComment-4883385 Share on other sites
Gulltramarine
Yeah, what Damo said. Humane, a bit of an overthinker from what I've read, struggles with ethical dilemmas. Also the least vain, he doesn't care if his deeds go down in legend in contrast to a lot of his brothers.
