BA Super heavy choice

Hello brothers,

I guess the time has come; that I might be looking for some super heavies for the BA army that could be used in 40-30k as well :smile.:

At the moment I have both armies 30-40k, for BA; mainly centered around aerial units (SR, FR, SE), or fast moving jumpacks, javelins, jet-bikes(my bikes in 40k) with some elite assault elements that are being transport into center of enemy line (catha-termies in SE -or- w.ever in SR in 40k)

Yet I am thinking, to bring either something shooty into my back field, that would soak tons of dmg, yet dish fair amount or something that would underline BA lore.

I am thiking of glaive (think it has been mentioned  HH books, that some was used by BA during siege of Terra), since can be used as w.ever in 40k and has sweet spot in 30k however I am opened up for any advises !

Thank you

~BT

PS. No Storm bird, I just dont like that model tbh.

A Thunderhawk would definitely be fitting and is an iconic model. If you want something slightly smaller then a Storm Eagle or Fire Raptor would be fitting.

A Knight Castellan would be easier on the wallet and would definitely provide you with plenty of fire support. You could either paint it in a contrasting colour scheme if you like or you could paint it red to represent a House or Freeblade that had been honoured by fighting alongside the BAs at some point in the past. Some of the big warzone like Armageddon provide plentiful scope for such alliances. It also has the advantage of not being a FW model. Some places still exclude FW from tournaments IICR.

I am not familiar with the larger FW tanks in 8th edition so I shall leave others to discuss their relative merits.

Spartan Assault Tank is a good addition. An durable 8 Lascannon tank with an 2+ is nothing to sneeze at and is highly recommended for 30k.

It can transport 25 infantry models (12 Terminators or even 12 Jumpers. You can cast the 4++ on it as it became keyword blood angels and repair it with our techmarines.

It may also fire if it is in close combat. What is not to like? :smile.:

I´v got also one knight atrapos which did in my games verry well.

The Spartan is the ultimate delivery system for anything and a true beast.

The Flyers are also great in 8th now they can start on the board etc.

The Baneblade Chassis tanks all look ace in Red too...

For a different feel, you could do a Mastodon?

I use an atrapos and love the model and it suits an aggressive playstyle.

But it is not fraction BA.

If we get armour of contempt I would trade the knight for low tank. Repairs, rerolls, stratagems and psychics can have a huge impact on the performance (but not affect good looks

thunder hawk. fits the aerial theme and looks awesome (especially the new one).

It's a little lacking in 30k, but is good in 40k (finally)

If you go big flyer, why not a stormbird?
OP (BloodTzar) said he doesn't like it :P Edited by Charlo

Hello brothers,

so after a while of thinking re-reading some HH books, the choice is made :)

I am very keen on Atropos model, although not sure if if fits more my SoH, WB rather than BA force. However model is ordered.

Moreover; Falchion has been ordered for my WB ,with 2nd Spartan for my BA a guess the choice would be glaive vs. Thunderhawk for BA (I guess Ill order TH, but transportation of it will be pain)

Lastly, Mastodon I am very scared of the model, however liking it at the same time, not thematic for my BA force, so I guess it will go to SoH :)

To sum up, BA force will get Spartan, Atropos (maybe) and glaive vs. TH :)

THank you all for some opinions!

Resin for the resin god!
