Corpsemaker warband...Plaguecaster Conversion

Like everyone else, Nurgles rot has made its way to my heart and has drawn me to start a new warband.  Im in the very early stages of putting together what I want to paint up.  Ive only made it partway through my first test fig.

 

Im not quite sure what color to paint the teeth and bone elements.

Black /w grey & browns would go well with the pale armor, imho.

Nice work, that looks really good. I agree, a dark bone/horn effect would look good for the teeth/horns.

I'd go with a dull green to dark brown, myself. Perhaps a Deathworld Forest base, perhaps? Agrax Earthshade and Dryad Dark would combo well with it.

Im debating using zandri dust as a base and heavily washing it.

This looks like a great start. I agree that a dark brown would look good for the horns, maybe consider a fade to black towards one end?

Finished my first test mini.  Happy so far.  Just need to figure out how I want to base him,

That looks really, really good, nice work. I'd suggest a dark base to not overpower the pale model, dark earth with some dead leaves and moss would be effective.

Wow, this is so cool. I literally just received the paints I ordered to do the same thing. Good to have you go ahead, the model looks great and very similar to what I'm hoping to achieve. Lovely tone of sickly yellow you hit there. 

 

I'll go for a very light base, ash-grey to -white. Alternatively, very dark black and brown tones will contrast well with the actual model too.

 

I suppose another, rather extreme idea could be to try mirror the subtle verdigris effect you applied to the copper trims. Could try a metal floor base with random blue and turquoise tones from thick verdigris, which would contrast well too.

My armor is bleached bone with a wash of reikland and sepia.

 

The flesh is screamer pink washed with reikland and some other colors.

They look absolutely stunning. How did you do the bases?

The bases are actually super easy.  Just water effects and brown paint mixed.

Much appreciated!  Im trying to pace myself so I dont get burnt out painting the same figs.  The nice thing about all of the Death guard figs is they are very unique.  Its going to take a long time before I have to paint the same model.

Just started to convert my Malignant plague caster.  Mostly using the noxious blight bringer and the existing Malignant plague caster.

That is a great color you have for your plague marines. The bases look great and do not take away from the marine's paint job!
