Hello everyone! I'm just getting started in HH. I'm planning on placing my first order next week. I really like the idea of just putting a bunch of bodies on the table. I'm planning on playing Imperial Fists with the Stone Gauntlet RoW, with masses of footslogging infantry, maybe with an Achilles or two for added flavor. It's was an easy choice because the VIIth is my favorite legion hands down. However, I already have a massive Black Templar force for 40k, and I wonder if I might be happier doing something besides more sons of Dorn. Is there another Legion I should consider? Thanks!

Space Wolves have plenty of rules helping them get stuck in CC fast with footslogging infantry. Although if your primary army is already mainly on foot, I'd recommend building a different second army for the sake of variety (both painting wise and play wise) or you might grow bored.

Have you got a preference for Loyalists or Traitors? As has been mentioned already - Iron Hands, Blood Angels (jump packs) & Space Wolves all work well for Loyalists, and World Eaters, Iron Warriors & Death Guard are perfect for Traitors. That's not to say that any other Legion is unable to pull it off! But those 6 will probably do it better.

However, if the VIIth is your Legion, maybe it's safe to stick with them. "Stone Gauntlet" is a hell of a thing - I face it regularly and it hurts (especially in Zone Mortalis). Write some lists for all different armies and see what looks good!

Thanks for the replies everyone! Sounds like a decent amount of legions do it well. I would've never thought of Blood Angels or Worls Eaters and footsloggers! My friends has all of the books, so I'll make a list for all of them and see what I like best. I'll let you know what I choose!
