Studio Silvernale
How hot of water do I need? I tried pure hot tap water and it doesn't seem to be working. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/339462-fw-heavy-weapon-cables/ Share on other sites
m0nolith
If it's not working, try a hair dryer. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/339462-fw-heavy-weapon-cables/#findComment-4888310 Share on other sites
Tyberos the Red Wake
Hot tap water takes forever and only lets you bend it slightly. It will also slowly curl back in place a little. Just use some boiling water and dip it, bend, and dunk in cold water. Works way better. Boiling water instantly makes it so bendy it almost feels liquid, at least for thin blades. Brother-Chaplain Kage
Don't get a full roiling boil though. I wait until there's just a few of the bubbles on the bottom of the pan are floating to the surface. Tyberos the Red Wake
Yeah, I guess I should have stated as much. Common sense tells you to never mess around with putting hands near and inserting things into roiling water. I boil the water fully then just pour it into a bowl and let it sit until it's calm but I can still feel heat from the surface. Basically "boiled" water and not "boiling" water. Brother-Chaplain Kage
Depending on the size of whatever I'm going to soften up in the water, I either use a hemostat (surgical locking clamp) or some grilling tongs for the big stuff. I never drop the item into the boiling water but keep hold of it the entire time. Lorenzen
Use a hair dryer. You can glue one end to the gun/backpack and then bend the feeds and glue them instantly can also use this to rework the feeds once tgeyre glued if you have a specific shape in mind Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/339462-fw-heavy-weapon-cables/#findComment-4888438 Share on other sites
Grim Dog Studios
I usually just boil the kettle and pour the boiling water into a bowl and use that to bend any bits that need bending. Ovidius Incertus
I just put a teacup in the microwave for like 1 or 1.5 minutes unless it's a big part that would require more water, then I use a pan. Other than that, I follow BCK's process. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/339462-fw-heavy-weapon-cables/#findComment-4888518 Share on other sites
