I think the Helbrute thing is intentional, GW did the same thing for Carnifexes and OOE and Hammerheads and Longstrike. If they want them to be a keyword, they'll be FAQ'd to be bolded. Anything else is house rules.

Except that GW Errata'd the Hammerhead thing into a Keyword afterwards and even worded it so Longstrike himself can benefit from his own buff (despite already having BS2+).

Anyway, I too think it's intentional but wouldn't be too surprised if they were going to change it if enough Death Guard player complain about it.

I noticed that Sorcerers can take weapons other than force weapons. This is different from Sorcerers in the Index and Codex: CSM and is very powerful (yay Sorc with a powerfist!). I wonder if it was intentional.

You mean Terminator Sorcerors? Those could take other weapons in Codex: CM as well and the Normal Sorcerors are bound to force weapons.

Just because this has caused a few arguments in my gaming group...

Does "The Dead Walk Again" stratagem allow a unit of poxwalkers to go above their listed maximum strength of 20?

The argument is that the poxwalker units are listed as having a max of 20 on their data slate so cannot ever go above that number.

Ah, you are correct. I couldn't remember the specifics. In Codex: CSM terminator sorcerers can replace their combi-bolter with another combi-weapon or terminator melee weapons, but are stuck with their force weapon. In Codex: DG, they can replace their bolter, or can also replace their force weapon with terminator melee weapons.

Hopefully they'll FAQ Codex CSM to be like Codex DG on this one. It'd make Terminator sorcs worthwhile.

Yes. That argument is irrelevant since it's for purchasing a unit; you can exceed Max squad size without it

I agree with you, however, it is an argument that exists because it doesn't specifically state that the stratagem allows you to exceed the maximum unit size of 20. It doesn't say you can't either. The argument exists within gaming groups and on several discussion boards therefore it probably needs a sentence to clarify. Simply saying, "I'm right, you're wrong" will not suffice.

Zombies from aos have a similar mechanic, but are explicitly capped at max unit size

Is there any way to field my old Terminators and bikers as proper Death Guard units? Using the Imdex perhaps? Or am I stuck using them out of C:CSM?

You couldn't take them even in the Index; they were never options for Death Guard in 8th

Probably dumb question but with the Chaos Familiar of Nurgle stratagem is it possible to swap Smite for one of the Contagion powers ???

Well, it *does* say any, so I'd guess so. Perhaps best to ask anyway.

Does Miasma of Pestilence (psychic power) stack?  So if I cast it twice on the same target, is that a cumulative -2 to hit it?

Well at least for matched play it doesn't matter since you can attempt to cast each psychic power only once per turn. Smite being the exception.

Ah, right.  Thanks for catching that!
