Komodo
Hi guys, I'm a bit confused there. Can you drop two separate 5-man units in a single drop pod? The idea behind is to put two dev squads with MM in a single droppod, you drop within 9 inches of your targets and deal damage at melta range with 8 MMs. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/339562-multiple-units-in-drop-pods/ Share on other sites
Khornestar
If the transport capacity is 10, then yes. However, keep in mind that you need more than half of your army (in units) on the table at the start of the game, so you'd need 4 units to balance out just the pod + 2 unit occupants. Komodo
Thank you Juggernut. 4 units on a table is pretty easy achievable with just 2 tacs and two razorbacks/rhinos. Devastators can now live up to their name :) Khornestar 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/339562-multiple-units-in-drop-pods/#findComment-4890544 Share on other sites
Ciler
If anyone questions your placing more than one unit in a pod, the special ability of the drop pod reads : During deployment, you can set up this model and any units embarked within it, ... On the other hand, I would argue that you only need 3 units on the table to balance out the drop pod (1 unit) and two devastators (2 units). Eddie Orlock
Those tacticals would have to start on the table and not in the transport to count as being on the table. That's a negatory there. We've already resolved this call. An embarked unit is considered to be in the same 'location' as its transport. You need more than half on the table, though all of a sudden I can't find the part of the BRB that says so. My book says "at least half" must be deployed on the table, on page 215. To me that's up to and including exactly 50/50. Khornestar
Awesome, I'm happy to be wrong about that. What page is that on? Dunno why I'm having such a hard time finding it, I know I've come across it before.
