What do you run in support of you don't of your horde of cultists and poxwalkers if you don't mind me asking?

Cultists are for backfield, they don't get support. Pox Walkers just need Typhus, and Typhus may need a Sorcerer or DP next to him to help murder things that are too strong for walkers to tarpit. I am going to test with a blob of PB with bubonic axes behind them using cloud of flies stratagem every turn and see how it feels.

I feel like an amateur reading this thread, as I only own 32 Poxwalkers currently, I best go looking on Ebay right now.

Just to let you know, the little 6 packs of zombies are different models than the DI ones. Same with the Plague Marines. Just in case you want more variety.

Is anyone else not a big fan of the new Poxwalker models?  I'm sorry, they just don't appeal to me.

That said, I down own 70 "Plague Zombies," that I picked up from Mantis Games.  I like their Zombies better, plus they are pretty cheap.

Thanks, I have a couple of boxes of the 6 pack to go with the Dark Imperium Poxwalkers, more variety the better as I am not much of a converter other then kit bashing.

I have 80, of which only 50 or so are actually assembled. I HATE multiples of the same model so I'm converting them all to some extent, it's just finding the time to do so. I can tell you that people freak out when seeing Poxwalkers for some reason. This was just with Typhus and a Blightbringer, not even using the new powers to pump them up off the charts. For 6 points, you can't beat their utility (or at least distraction level).

I have about 120 plague zombies painted and ready (thanks to another project I had going on), but honestly I'm having such a hard time seeing the value of poxwalkers.  Max squad size of 20 and what appears to be quite a steep points cost is making me reluctant to use them.

That said, I know GW is more on their game for balancing and points nowadays.  I'll be trying out cultists, poxwalkers and nurglings in various roles and configurations until I find what works for me.

To begin, probably just a unit (or two if I can find points) of 18-20 poxwalkers to get a feel for them.  I'll also try to keep Typhus nearby (who I'm likely running anyway as he's a 25pt upgrade for your LoC and brings psychic powers and other goodies) and likely a noxious blightbringer so that they can move a little faster up the board.

I just got my codex and want to try a Daemon prince, typhus and 60 poxwalkers (I have zombies painted up ready and 40 poxwalkers still on the sprue).

Using the physic power you can end up with T5 S5 poxwalkers. That's a tough unit on paper to get rid of.

I was hopeing fro a points drop to be honest though as a unit of 20 poxwalks at 120 points is a tough sell when you could have 30 Cultist for that. (i have over 100 cultists painted for 7th edition renegade days)

For me it's not the cost, I think 6 points is ok for what they co (or potentially could do).

What I have a bigger problem with is the Unit size.  Why are we capped at 20 models when other similar horde units (Demon troops, Orks, Cultists, Conscripts etc.) can go up to 30?

The only reason I can think of is that in CC, they can potentially increase in size above 20 depending on how much damage the deal out.

Yes, I am also looking forward to trying S5 T5 poxwalkers, should be fun and really annoying for marine opponents. Bolters needing 5s to wound and then you still get DR. Wounding Marines on 3s lol can't wait to try it out.
