Hello everyone!

My name is Rasmus and i been painting and playing warhammer for the better part of 20 years, with many brakes in between. Im married with my lovely wife Miruna and have a 2 year old daughter named Alice. I work for a living programming. Hobbies include playing games, computer games aswell as boardgames and my garden.

Few years ago i started a Dark Angels army to get a brake from my catachan Imperial guard army. I slowly got hooked more and more on the unforgiven while reading books, lore and playing with the army itself. As i got more and more into the army, i kept buying models for the army as in 6th edition i felt like i wanted to play everything from Deathwing, Ravenwing and Green Wing. Then my daugher came!

6th edition ended, then 7th edition came(which i didnt even play one single game in) and passed and now at the dawn of 8th i feel the urge to paint and play with my angels again.

I been stalking this forum for a few years now, injoying reading about all your stories, experiances, tips and tricks with your own Dark Angels. Inspired by many great blogs here i decided to start up my own blog!

The purpose of the blog is to slowly build and paint my dark angels. I will be starting at the very beginning, building my army up as we go and as i play games try to figure out what playstyle and models i like, and therefor will gain priority in the painting line.

I hope you will all take part in the blog and share your opinion whenever you feel like it.

Since i started playing in 8th edition i been leaning towards a Green Wing for the backbone of my army and it felt natural to start out with painting that as the first thing. I been using scouts alot for my small games and i really injoy brining them to the table as i feel like they give me some extra options aswell as a very resilient troop choise.

The other day i completed my first squad of scouts. What do you think?

Im currently working on the last few marines for my first tactical squad. I had painted a few of these in 6th edition, but i feel like they need a few minor changes other than the base sizes. I will share my progress on them as soon as i finish them.

Finished the last marine for my tactical squad. I had painted 3 of the tacticals a year or two ago, so went back a retouched them so they would go with the new ones.

Heres the new plasma gunner.

The finished 5 man tactical squad. They are all from the Dark vengeance box. I replaced the head of the sargeant with one fro mthe dark angels box set.

I think i am gonna start work on my chapter master(The one from the starter set), who can also stand in for Azrael when i start playing higher points or i might paint a razorback. What do do you guys vote for? I wield both in my normal lists, so they both have to get painted anyway :)

Painted up my first deathwing terminator.

I plan on slowly getting back into the hobby again. The first goal is to paint up 500 points (hence the word slow haha ..)

As mentioned earlier in the thread, i play small point games while painting/putting together models for the army. We are currently playing 750 points with 1000 points coming up in 14 days.

My HQs consist of a "Deathwing Master in Terminator armor" for forward aggression and a "Techmarine" for backline support. The later i had bought a old model with boltpistol, poweraxe and servoarm which i used in the games so far.

Even tho the techmarine did his job at repairing my venerable riffleman dreadnought and twin assaultcannon razorback, he didnt really fit in that well with the backline as he were equiped for close combat..

So i made myself a Techmarine  with conversion beamer!

I magnatized the boltgun and backpack/conversion beamer so i can give him a combiweapon later on or go back to close combat gear again if this doesnt work out. For now i will keep him as cheap as i can for long range.

What do you guys think? I think its my best conversion so far being in the hobby :)

Top work indeed. The conversion beamer is a nice little conversion that works really well, but my favorite is the head swap on the D.V. Sarge it really is subtle but makes a big difference. I do feel that the real jewel in your crown is the Deathwing. TDA really does suit your clean crisp style. I hope we get to see more soon. Have you got to play any games with them yet?

Thank you for the kind words man! I just recently started playing 8th again with smaller points. Next week me and a friend will start playing again once every 14 days where points will slowly be increased. My current list is a mix of greenwing and deathwing, with rougly 50/50 pointwise for my 1000 point list.

I will update you all updated once we starts playing again if it has any interest for you guys?

Nice work man!

The paint colours are so... kinda soft and matte I guess, I really dig that!

Thanks man, im happy you dig it!
