Charlo
So guys and gals of the diseased vectoriums... I am a torn man. I'm loving a lot of the DI Plague Marines and also what we've seen of the multi-part kit. ....But I'm also not liking a lot of it. Silly I know, but a few are just a bit too diseased for me. Anyone think there would be any issues using MkIII plastics + the FW Plague marine kit for most of my infantry? Obviously then upgrades are a bit of an issue as well as general size? IT's the same with the blight lords - some are just too OTT mutated (the fly one is terrible IMO) for mu liking and I'm more inclined to use the FW kit again with some plastic cataphractii etc. I've also got a few of the 30k terms of both types that I can mix in... If we had some sort of Chosen equiv it would be easy - more basic dudes for troops and chosen would be the DI/ new stuff....! Reyner
I don't think there would be any issues with that as long as you cover the wargear :) a rad missile launcher from 30k Destroyers looks pretty similar to a blight launcher. Could even wait and see what the sprues look like for the multi-part Plague Marines and see if you can slip some non mutant Iron Armour in there? Shoulder pads, helmets and stuff like that? Kastor Krieg
Dear Sir, the fly one is the most fly of them all, you have no taste, breeding and honor. Plasma pistols at dawn, bring a second. Lord Marshal
I somehow doubt every Death Guard player that ran them prior to 8th will throw their entire collections in the bin. So no, there shouldn't be any issues, especially not if you're using the FW Conversion kits. To be honest, if I had a DG army without extensive conversion done....I'd strip and/or cut them apart to use their bitz otherwise and stock up on the new stuff. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/339797-plague-marine-modelling-im-torn/#findComment-4894924 Share on other sites
Charlo
Yeah I think it will really depend on how customisable the new kit is... Bloody Legionnaire
I really really didn't like the new DG.. at first but needless to say they've grown on me. The "dark brethern" Plague Marines don't look too bad and I do like a handful of the models in the DI Plague Marine squad. I think you should wait to see what the multipart plague marine squad is going to look like. From what we've been able to see so far they do not look over the top to me. After examining the Dark Brethren Plague Marines (the only Plague Marines I have right now) I'm not sure they are so much bigger than the BoP MkIII marines. Unfortunately I've just moved and my stuff is in storage so I don't have a way to do a direct size comparison. If you wanted to use MkIII I don't see much wrong with that. bozo69pd
I like the new models, but I agree they are far too busy. For an army that prides itself on its lack of vanity these guys sure have alot of bling. General Strike
There is a size comparison thread over in the general pca area showing the size difference between BoP mk3 and the new plague marines. Mack
I love the new models. The details are what really pulled me into doing a DG army (although I have been wanting to do one now for about 10 years, but the old models just never interested me) I was going to do one using Blightkings and heavy conversions, but when I saw the new models I was hooked. That said, using anything you want is viable. The MKIII armor is awesome and if painted in a weathered corrupted way, would still reflect DG very good. Marshal Loss
Threads like this are so silly. Anybody that has an issue with you mixing appropriate parts to create your own models are not the kinds of people you should be listening to. Everybody has their own taste, I think mixing the plastic Mark III with other DG parts would work very well. Brother-Chaplain Kage
My only concern would be with scale since the PMs are as big as the Primaris and could look odd with the smaller Mk 3 parts. Looking at the (now clearer) pics of the PM plastic box I'll probably just use them anyway, they look baller. TURBULENCE
Mk 3 arms are still in scale. I used some converting the DI plague marines Charlo 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/339797-plague-marine-modelling-im-torn/#findComment-4898458 Share on other sites
