Hellfire rounds and Armourim Cherib

Shooting the obvious today at at work, we discussed that if you used the hellfire rounds strategem on a dev squad marine and the cherub you could use it twice for the the use of 1 Cp?

 

Anyone tried this at All?

Good question but I think it's a no unfortunately.

 

The wording for the Hellfire shells stratagem says you only make a single hit roll with this weapon THIS PHASE.

 

But then the cherub rule says the model can immediately shoot again, which overrules the BRB regarding shooting but doesn't get around the wording of the statagem itself limiting the model to firing once this phase.

 

But I could be wrong...

Well, the way I see it is that your HB can fire twice with the Cherub, but only one of those shots csn be Hellfire.

I believe Frater is correct. Hellfire Shells doesn't change the Heavy Bolter's profile or change the type or anything that would be allowable to be used twice by a wording miscue. Hellfire Shells doesn't change the heavy bolter attack profile, it uses the Heavy Bolter to make an attack as part of the strategem. So you would select the model with the HB fire, would use the Strategem, use the Cherub, and then fire your Heavy Bolter normally.
