The 40k version adds the chainswords and pistols on their own little sprue to the AoS kit, so if you aren't planning on using those parts... Then the AoS set is probably more cost-effective for you if there's much of a price difference between them.

I use the AoS Tzaangors on disks as Heralds of Tzeentch. But aesthetics wise I guess they would work as Tzaangors with blades, although it could be my imagination but the 40 k Tzaangors seem beefier?

 

But as mentioned if there's no way you'll use the pistol variant it should do work fine.
