Purchasing Tzaangors

For those who have bought them, is there any reasons to buy the 40k box of tzaangors if you plan on using the blades? The reason I ask is because of the AoS tzaangors being cheaper. I can get them on amazon for 35$ as opposed to the 45$ For the 40k variety from GW.

The 40k version adds the chainswords and pistols on their own little sprue to the AoS kit, so if you aren't planning on using those parts... Then the AoS set is probably more cost-effective for you if there's much of a price difference between them.

I use the AoS Tzaangors on disks as Heralds of Tzeentch. But aesthetics wise I guess they would work as Tzaangors with blades, although it could be my imagination but the 40 k Tzaangors seem beefier?

 

But as mentioned if there's no way you'll use the pistol variant it should do work fine.

the arms with the pistols and chain swords might be beefier, that could give the illusion of a beefier model in general.

I think it's just your imagination. I have some made up of all the combinations from the box and it looks all the same to me.

The sprue pix are on the GW website, here for fantasy, and here for 40k. They are unequivocally the same, except for the additional pistol/chainsword sprue in the 40k set.

That's what I thought, and the GW pictures of the sprues is also what prompted me to ask. I'll probably get some AoS tzaangors sometime soon.
