After Daer'dd's passing millions took pilgramage to see the fallen Demi God of Iron and Strength. In stasis he wore not his Battle plate but that of archaic copper, a respendant image of a Demi-God in flesh.
Many were moved by his scaraffice, but none more that the women of the Imperium, they saw his mighty Daughters, the Daughters of Daer'dd, clad in Iron Black and burnished copper; whilst not Astartes themselves, the Daughters of Daer'dd faught in away few could match
This was emulated quickly, millions of women came to fight, clad in not in Iron back, but silver and gold, accented by burnished copper and inlaid with cobalt; weapons designed to stop Astartes while being virtually as strong, talented, and fast as Astartes, pushed by transhumanist procedures, though lacking the stuff that defined Astartes. These were the new Daughters of the Imperium. And as Morrow wrapped his tentacles around the The There Fires, he found a new resistance fighting back; lead by surviving Iron Bears, Daughters of Daer'dd/Gizaehdan, Autumnal Guard, and Knight Houses and Titan Legios looking for blood, those who attacked had no idea what lies ahead of them. But in there throngs of these new Daughters of the Imperium fought with valor and honor.

Hey ho. Sure that millions would take a risky pilgrimage during a galaxy wide civil war just to see a dead hero? After the insurrection of course but not while it last. That would be for most suicide.

However afterwards that could be a cool reason to establish armed women

I second Mikhal. This idea should be saved for later. The tone of the early phases of the Age of the Imperium is still very much of a secular nature with bits and pieces of religion and supernatural appearing here and there. And, although Alexandros gives the more mystical, medieval side of 40k a good kick, it still takes 1-2,000 years before the tone of the setting firmly shifts into that tone.

With the exception of the Suzerainty, of course.

Ahh yes you'll have to forgive my poetic license; not a literal time line of events; though in all fairness, there are quadrillions+ humans in the empire so for every million that shows up that's less than a 1 in billion change.

That being said we have talked about seeing the birth of the Daughters of the Imperium pop up during the Northern defenses spurred on by the acts of the heroes of DoD.

Also for those curious, I don't plan on having the Daughter of the Imperium organize till the scouring; I just want the hint there and to give potential fans a non light Bears version of a force to play with then. Nor per Sims and i's discussion they will won't replace SoB.

As you and the others have stated, most "pilgrims" qluld cone after the galaxy has become sliiiightly more safe to travel and a myth/tradition has formed around the pilgrimage itself.

...still I could see many Women from the Three Fires and surrounding Sectors, who survived or need to flee, who's men were drafted or volunteered, take to the skies and try to get there.

As soon as the first start fighting on the homefront, they'll obviously help evacuate planets and will be seen by more and more civilian women, who are amazed and find hope in the idea of fighting too. So they make their way towards Daerdd too.

Except they'll lack ties to the Ecclesiarchy: they're pious for sure, but purely a part of the Imperial Army. Religion is just a driving force for them coming together.

The General idea is they're more or less rag tag group till the scouring… if that makes sense?
